retrofit Audi Bluetooth system

Hi all ...

So I've read through a few posts on bluetooth here and came to the conclusion that I could get a standard audi bluetooth system retrofitted?!

However, I popped into Camberley Audi service centre today to be told this isn't possible. It was factory-fit only.

My questions are:
- Are camberley Audi correct and I cannot get the standard system retrofitted?
- If they are right - what options do I have ?
- If they are wrong - which Audi dealership has done this successfully?

thank you ...

wouldnt get it done at the dealer if they could do it anyway, far to expensive, theres a couple of places mentioned on this site if you do a search that will retro fit bluetooth like OEM

I've been thinking about the same thing (For a C5 RS6), but the price I have in my head for the parts is about £500. There have been posts recently regarding the Kenwood double DIN units, and once you add the nav disk (£200) to the bluetooth (£500) it seems to me that you might be better off with an aftermarket unit?

I had a Kenwood double din satnav and handsfree setup in my previous car and it was very good - way better than the Audi setup. Also had speed camera alerts on it. The only thing you'd lose is the directions appearing in the DIS display.

Depends if you're bothered about keeping it OEM.

Usual dealer reply - what they mean is that Audi do not supply a retrofit kit.

Yes it IS 100% possible, I've done at least half a dozen Audi OE BT retrofits.

You can get a complete kit of everything you need from Kufatec.

Installing it takes about 1 - 1.5 hours, but you DO need VCDS (VAG-COM) to recode the instruments, sat nav (or radio) and the BT module itself.

I had HazzyDayz do mine with OEM parts, works very well.

They are national and travel to you whereas craigyb is based up in Manchester so no good for me

Ditto the Kufatec system, cost was £225 I think and as well as the standard features of the Audi system (which it behaves exactly the same as for phone features,) it can also stream music from your phone through Bluetooth, if your phone has the functionality to do so (i-phone 4, or most smart phones). Although the quality of the streamed music falls short of the fully installed and wired player, it does leave you free to still use the CD player and card reader etc. a very elegant solution!

You're talking about the third-party Fiscon BT module - Kufatec also sell the OE Audi module, so you have the choice.

IMHO the streaming audio on the Fiscon is a complete joke - the connection between the BT module and the RNS-E is low bandwidth (300-3300Hz) MONO intended for voice only, so for music it's rubbish (unless you like music that sounds like it's being played through a baked bean can?).

craigyb travels around the country fitting...

I'd rather have craigyb do it than HazzyDayz - they get mixed feedback but craigyb gets only good feedback.

Agree, he fitted mine in London. But this was a few years ago now.

But it's not OE and IMHO the extra screen kinda spoils the look of the dash.
