Wing Mirrors - Warranty

Hi this is my first post.

I've got a 57 plate RS4 convertible which i've had for 10 months. I took it to my main dealer for its MOT in Sept and at the same time mentioned that paint was flaking on the silver wing mirrors. They said they'd take some pics and send them to warranty claims at Audi.

Nothing happened.

I took it in for its service in December and mentioned the wing mirror again. Nothing happened

I called a few weeks ago as they hadn't dealt with another warranty issue, so they said they'd deal with both. The other warranty issue has now been dealt with but they said that the Wing Mirror issue isn't covered by the warranty as its classed as 'trim'

Can anyone help on this?

Thanks

Marc

I had an issue with the black triangular trim on which the wing mirror is mounted. Reported it to Camberley Audi (who are very good) within the warranty period and they felt that they would have a tough time arguing for the warranty claim as it was exterior trim and it might not be looked upon kindly.

Ultimately didn't claim, but what you're saying is not without precedent.

Not exactly the same but may help - I used to have a S3 and the lacquer started to peel on the washer jet covers (the jets used to pop up out of the bumper) - I got them replaced under paintwork warranty, at Camberley (but 6 years ago). These could have been classed as trim perhaps? I had the car from new but had imported it from Germany.
