Hi folks,

As per title really, been looking at lots of cars lately and looks like I may be able to do a part ex deal on this one.

It's red,
reg is 'OU56 YHY'
35k miles
FASH
and it's got a Milltek, but not sure which one yet (how can i tell which Milltek it is by just looking at it?)

Wasn't sure about getting a red one, it might stand out a bit too much, but I bet with a machine polish it will look fantastic...

I've driven quite a few now, and starting to be able to tell by the drive if it's a dog or not, but any pointers for me to look at when viewing the car? How can I tell if the DRC needs work?

Also, being a 5 year old 1 owner car with only 35k miles, is it likely that it will need to be de-coked? How can I tell? (or will this not be an issue because of the milltek?)

Was the DRC warrenty for 5 years? So I guess I can get it straight to Audi if I bought it and have anything that needs sorting done under warrety.

If it's only done an average of 7,000 miles a year it's obviously not been a daily driver, unless it's been clocked...

Any tips for things to look out for would be great. :redrs4:

dont worry about the de-coke ... an RS 4 does not need this

if you're searching for more power (but you dont come across like a person into tuning) it will give you that for a limited time

milltek, get your head under the car ... if its got boxes on the centre pipes, it res .. but 90% likely to be non res....if the vol changes with the S button its valved ...

DRC goodwill is 5 yrs

tell tell signs of dodgy DRC is clonking noise and terrible handling ... but, bear in mind mine has just had 4 shocks done and I had NO symptoms and the car rides exactly as it did before the repair

red is AWESOME btw

Wolfgang started a thread on here for things to look out for when buying an RS4. Check that out, should help as a lot of questions were covered.

Ok thanks very much chaps, I'll have a search for that thread.

I won't be lusting after any more power to start with - I'm coming from an R32 so standard it will be far quciker than what I am used to, and it's going to be a daily driver so reliability is essential. Out of the few I have driven some seemed far quicker than others, so fingers crossed the red one won't be a dog.

I'm set on the Milltek though, as I curently have a non-res on the R32, and it sounds absolutely sublime. There aren't many cars that sound better, but even though I've not heard a Milltek on an RS4 in real life (you tube doesn't do it justice I am sure) I'm sure it will be a worthy replacement.
