I thought the same - brought the cutting home from the Standard to warn the family to watch out...

I don't suppose it's anyone from the forum?

I've always thought advertising on autotrader with an RS4 is a recipe for disaster. If I ever come to get rid of mine it will be via trade in - i'll happily take the hit on lower value trade in vs safety of my family!

This also reminds me i need to get my GAP insurance sorted, had a quote of £160 for 4 yrs cover last week which seems too good to refuse.

you gotta use a bit of common sense !

I think it was £15k but from what i remember when playing around with quotes you could move up to 20k shortfall for approx another £20. It was just the first internet insurer i came accross so will need to sniff around to make sure the policy is solid etc. But all in all i reckon a < £200 GAP insurance on a £30k car is well worth it for peace of mind if nothing else. Think most policies require you to have purchased within the last 6 months though.

And be careful showing them the car's paperwork as your home address will then be visible to them.

Some garages will sell on behalf of you (for a fee) which could be a good compromise?

It is a difficult one as I wouldn't want to buy from someone not at their home address for fear of a ringer etc. When selling my bike I would actually keep it at a neighbours as there was a spate of people coming back for a "2nd viewing" or paying cash & then coming back that night for the cash as a purely unrelated crime so again I lodged the cash overnight with a neighbour. Another good reason for buying/selling via a forum !

If your gonna comit a firearms offence to steal a car, I don't get why you go for a £27k 4year old car

Why not a brand new C63 or M3 or Aston, Jag XK or the many other £50k + cars

If you get caught your going down for a long time vs. just bugulary and GTA
