Dynamic/adaptive headlights
So what stuff would be extra over a standard RS4 ? Anyone know?
Ive heated rear seats and apparently thats part of another pack.
Would be good to see a complete options list.

Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar
Re: RE: Re: RE: Dynamic/adaptive headlights
I don't have an Auto option as I don't have auto-lights (as far as I can tell). Hence my confusion!Steve_C wrote:My lights are on auto too and as I park in forwards into a darkish garage I see the dance every time I start the engine.
2007 RS4 Avant in Mugello Blue + Milltek non-res valved, MRC air filter, MRC remap with silent-mode startup

I THINK the up down is the std lights but adaptive are properly dancing, but have only seen an adaptive car so can't say for sure...andre3000 wrote:Just to emphasise my point, the dancing lights on startup are not an indication of adaptive lights.
If you're looking for confirmation of adaptive functionality then the showroom thingy mentioned above is prob more useful
Re: RE: Re: RE: Dynamic/adaptive headlights
My startup sequence is like Sonny said. Dancing in both horizontal & vertical planes.MB2 wrote:I THINK the up down is the std lights but adaptive are properly dancing, but have only seen an adaptive car so can't say for sure...andre3000 wrote:Just to emphasise my point, the dancing lights on startup are not an indication of adaptive lights.

Correct.MB2 wrote:I THINK the up down is the std lights but adaptive are properly dancing, but have only seen an adaptive car so can't say for sure...
Up and down only = xenons.
Up and down PLUS side to side = adaptive xenons.

8EC mate. 4 moves on startup, L-R-U-DSteve_C wrote:So what has Andre3000 got?
Could be a retrofit before my time but I doubt it; I've not noticed any swivelling in motion & it defo doesn't swivel when stood still.
I did think it weird when it danced sideways, didn't make any sense to me for it to do that.

Adapative lights don't move at standstill unless you turn on Showroom Mode with VAG-COM.andre3000 wrote:I've not noticed any swivelling in motion & it defo doesn't swivel when stood still.

Re: Dynamic/adaptive headlights
Hi all - does this mean that if you have "8Q5 = Headlight-range adjustment, automatic/ dynamic with dynamic bending light (AFS 1)" then your lights will adjust automatically for driving on the right ie when in France. hence no need for beam deflectors. Would be useful. Excuse my ignorance. Cheers
Re: Dynamic/adaptive headlights
No it does not. You can use VCDS to put the lights into "tourist" mode for driving on the right but std and adaptive headlights don't adjust for the side of the road you are on.
