DRC System

I know there's been a lot of chat on the forum about the DRC issue. However, my faith in Audi has been restored by their quick response to the email i sent Jeremy Hicks this morning. Despite Jeremy being out of the office, one of his exec team called me back to tell me that the inspection and if necessary the repair of my DRC system would be covered by Audi UK under the extended good will warranty.
I will let you know the outcome on Friday.

G70 - Have you got the email address of Jeremy Hicks you could let me have? I wanted Warrington Audi to check out my DRC a month ago and they wanted to charge me £100 just to look at it- even though it's under warranty with a full Audi history.
Cheers Paul

You'll have to tell him you have a knocking that you think is DRC related and you thought that the inspection / replacement, if necessary was covered under the extended warranty.
Good luck

Audi seem to be doing pretty well on the replacement, took my car in today and both front shocks are leaking and so will need both shocks and valves as well which they work out to be a £2800 job, lucky it happened so near to the end of my 5yrs from new! Its 5 on March 1st!

Yes, the system needs recharging when ANY shock is replaced.

Hello gents,
As per the O/P, one of my shocks has just started to leak, unfortunately I'm not covered under the warranty so am having to shell out the said £2000 to get it sorted. But before I do so and to avoid these DRC issues in future, is the best alternative going to be H&R coilovers?
I'm just looking through the forums now but thought I'd drop a quick post in just incase anyones got any suggestions or advice they'd like to share.
Thanks in advance.

Why are you not covered under the warranty?
If you've done over 75,000 miles or your RS4 is over 5 years old, then push for at least a contribution from Audi.
If you don't have FASH, then so what - I don't have FASH and I still got my two front shocks and the DRC valve replaced under warranty.
Either way, don't just pay up - give 'em some grief.

Agree, at least argue, and hopefully under Audis "Good Will" they will pay 50%. Punch in the face is better than a needle in the eye...That's if your lucky.
I will say that coilovers will make for a harsher ride, so be aware.

DRC sucks, in so far as mine hasn't failed yet - I'm sort of hoping it does so I can get some new ones

most of us US owners are not having issues getting our DRC's replaced under warranty. Even if warranty is expired id still try to get it replace for the least amount of cash as you can.

Thanks gents.
The car is an '06 so is almost 5 years old (August), only just broke 40k the other day. I know when I'd bought the car it had just had the DRC replaced under warranty but I was led to believe this was more a global recall rather than a standard warranty job.
So I should be able to go to Audi, kick up a stink about the whole DRC business and should be able to get some sort of kickback? I hope so.
In saying that, I've got it booked in at Whetstone Audi (North London) - not sure if anyone's had any dealings with them. But I'm seriously considering a coilover replacement as a quick Google search just shows how many people are having issues with DRC...
Really ruined my day!
Thanks again for all your posts, they're very much appreciated.
