Cant be much help on the specialist front in this area but (interested to see what other people come up with) but as for dealers i found Ayr to be better than Glasgow in terms of service and price ( £ strangely as they are the same group).

I have used these guys and had a brilliant service from them, had my oil cooler changed due to the pipes corroding and radiator changed due to stone penetration.

Very helpfull.

I need to state that I have lived in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Oxford and Lancashire and I am now back in Glasgow. A4Audi ( http://www.a4audi.co.uk/) and Andy who manages the business is excellent, with customer service, price and help. It is the one reason that I have decided to keep running my 6 after 103 000 miles. There is no reason to change this car if I don't have to worry about the little problems.

The only other independent, good specialist I found in Scotland is Star Performance, although I have not been there for a couple of years.

Sorry guys, don't mean to burst the bubble, but any garage can give you a proper service without being a "dealer", it's called block exemption and came in early 2000. Don't believe that just because they're an Audi dealer that they're better than anyone else, if its just a service it's no big deal. Plus I've had my DRC fixed under extended warranty without having full Audi service history, as long as official parts are used in your service, then your warranty remains intact. The salesmen in the showrooms will want you to believe otherwise, but you can have your car serviced wherever you want, at exactly the same standard, without paying £150 an hour labour etc.

Sorry to rant, but the whole full Audi service history is a con and just means youve paid through the nose for something any local mechanic can do. If you don't believe me, just google it. Google is your friend after all.

All the best,

Sarge

Ken Brown in Hillington, 0141 882 6757.
Has looked after my S2 for a long time, does a lot of RS6's too apparently. Glasgow Audi send bits of work his way too.

The thing with FASH is that you need it for the goodwill warranty on the DRC to apply (as opposed to an extended warranty). Yes, I know Petrol Dave had his DRC fixed with no FASH, but I think that is the exception rather than the rule.

I didnt have FASH and had my DRC replaced... It shouldnt make any difference.

My car is a month away from 5 years old and still on original DRC so i contacted Audi UK for a bit of reassurance. I was told that the 5 year is goodwill on the basis that it has a full Audi service history. Now that came from the horses mouth. the people who have had services outwith Audi and still had their DRC sorted are lucky and probably have their dealer to thank.
Now i would be the first to agree that it shouldnt matter, but the 5 year deal isnt a warranty as such so DaytonaSarge' point doesnt apply.

Not the dealer - in my case a letter from Jeremy Hicks stating that Audi would pay stopped any discussion about payment as soon as the Service Advisor saw it. All thanks to a campaign that was run on here.
