Some More MRC Magic

Just got back from MRC today, where I've had catless DP's and cold air feed installed and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. The car feels alot stronger and has a really noticeable increase in low down torque. Especially noticeable in third where at lower revs always felt a little sluggish now it just wants to go. Doug said it's the most powerful one he's done so far. So I'm very happy and would like to say a big thank you to everyone at MRC especially Doug.

Yeah all the above but not ported as extreemly as Dougs might get that done next time I get the valves cleaned. It may not give any more thou.

Great results, didnt think it would be long before others had it done, the difference in torque/grunt is very noticeable and usefull eh? Makes the car much more usefull in any gear/situation,did you go the full hog all at once or did you already have some mods in place?

Would you agree the powerband as such is more like 3-8k?

I'm very tempted but to get anywhere near those figures you need to dump the cats, and I can't be bothered with the hassle come mot time.

The grunt is very noticeable indeed. Had it cleaned and ported a few months back then just went back yestrerday for decat and cold air feed. Not had as extreeme porting as dougs might get that done when I get the valves cleaned again. But it might not give any any more power the recon.

The really cheap option is to remove the precats from stock dps. We have had 440 ps with that spec of dps and all the other mods

How much does that reduce the operating life of the main cats though Doug?

doug, you got 451.5 out of mine with gutted pre-cats,
how much more do you think i would gain from a no cat downpipe and cold air feed?
also the more aggresive porting on the manifold is that adding more power or just changing the power delivery?

Hard to say on b7s but b5s have ran without precats for the last 7 years and still pass an mot. I have never seen a failed main metal oe cat fail or fail an mot. The ceramic break and fail all the time - and delaers swap cats usually becasue of mixture problems and misdiagnosis.
I think once we are up at 460ps we are struggling to get much more.

i didnt know MRC did cold air feeds? i can't seem to find any induction kits for RS4 by any company- just aftermarket filters for standard airbox. Can i expect much better respose/power/noise from one of these? approx how much £?

Is there a chart on the same dynamometer of a standard RS4?
As we haven't tested one that goes over 375 bhp yet.

Got some duff RS4's over there then, OEM and 396bhp with vacuum issues on mine.
