Milltek & 10mm Spacers - Before and After

Since they're both fairly commonly asked questions I took some before and after photos of 10mm spacers on the rear and also a video of OEM vs Milltek (Non Valved, Non Res)

Its been the first dry, sunny and (comparatively) warm day this year so took the opportunity to clear the never ending to-do list.

Fit BMC Filter and 10mm rear spacers
Fit LED Sidelights (Mission aborted, looked like an arsehole of a job!)
Wash RS4 and other half's Polo
Fit tailtidy and LED indicators to bike

Real difference is through the gears on the road but I never got round to making that vid with the OEM exhaust.

get some 6 mm for the front (maybe 8's)

Original wheel nuts fit ok or extended items required?

Really want to get some but unsure of rubbing / bearing hub wear etc....

Mines a 57 saloon NON Sports Sus - 10mm rears ok - fit straight on?

I got mine from http://www.dpmperformance.co.uk/ and they came with 10x extended wheel bolts.
Just make sure to get the hubcentric spacers so the bolts aren’t taking all the load.

Locking wheel nuts aren’t included and the OEM ones aren’t long enough to go through the spacer so you’ll need to get longer ones from the likes of McGards.

M14 x 1.5, 35mm Lg (I think) Radius Seat.

Spacers will fit straight on with no arch fouling but just make sure to have a piece of emery or sandpaper handy to clean any rust off the hub face for a neater fit.

Only problem you get with having spacers is most of the road crap peppers the side skirts, although I do have 275s fitted as well.

Yes, my car has SS+ and no problems.
I only have spacers on the rear at the moment though, still trying to decide if I should fit to the front although I believe 10mm is a bit much and you should either be looking at 3mm or 8mm depending on tyre width?

3mm plain on the front is perfect imo and ok to retain standard bolts,i prefer taper bolts you have a far greater mating surface than with radius,you end up with a thin ring contact area and can dig into the taper in your wheels,only my opinion and preference though,R1 sounds good but like the RS4 much in the flesh so to speak

Yeah thats the closest you'll get with the McGards range.

Audi standard bolts are 27mm long and the locking one is closer to 29mm.
Add on 10mm for your spacer and you'd be looking at a corrected range of between 37mm - 39mm.

28032 kit is 34.5mm so should fit (I say should as I have yet to order mine!)
The next one up is 28017 which is 44.5mm but I'm not sure if this will perhaps be too long and bottom out on the hub.

With OEM bolts you're capturing about 10mm-11mm worth of thread once fully tightened; with McGards 28032 you'll get 7.5mm-8mm which is still a good 5 threads of engagement (plus the 4 other replacement bolts)
