A New Year, a New Road Trip!

After numerous calls and PM's to see if I am going to Europe again this year, regretably I have to advise that if I did this I would not have a family to come back to! So a family holiday is on the cards in summer 2011.

But all is not lost as I would still like to do a road trip but one closer to home and why not as we have some excellent roads on our doorsteps. There are three locations I can think of so anyone who is interested in doing any of the following put your name down against which location and the most popular one wins.

Likely to be done sometime between end of March and end of May but dependent on which is more popular then we'll look at dates when trip is decided upon.

The trips are;

1/ Scottish Highlands 4 day long weekend blast (Friday-Monday)

2/ Isle of Man TT 4 day long weekend (albeit subject to ferry and hotel availability)

3/Welsh Hills and Valleys long weekend plus Pendine Sands.

Just in case you were tempted, you haven't been able to drive your car on Pendine Sands since 2004...

I've been sorely tempted to try when I've been down there a couple of times, but it seems like only Top Gear can get round H&S in that respect.

Pathetic.

In addition, Hurst House has gone bust so one of the best hotels in the region is now in administration...although the WWW site still looks like its accessible...

:(

Thanks SR-71 I did know Pendine was closed to driving public but good to visit anyway.

That said Highlands appears to be the choice thus far. Interested in joining us?

I could be tempted...might come on the 12R.

The A87 from Invergarry to the Kyle has got to be one of the best biking roads in the country.

I'm sure its possible to travel that 50 miles in well under half an hour...

I've always fancied Isle of Man.....but without the TT as would prefer quieter roads rather than mixing it with bikes :?

Going to 'Ring in April and September if anyone fancies tagging along your more than welcome.........
