I'm viewing 3 RS4's on Sunday from Bournemouth up to Salisbury and was kinda wondering if anyone has a spare hour or two to look over one/all with me?
My first RS and I'd be grateful if any old hands could have a look with me as I don't want to buy a crock?
Lunch included subject to your eating ability
Cheers

Sorry can't help this weekend, but would be happy to help next weekend. Will be in Southampton/Portsmouth on Sunday so if you would like to look at my car first would be happy to meet up if that helps ?

Thank you,
I may take you up on that as the weather may play a part this weekend.

Saturday will be better than Sunday next week for me if you are planning that far ahead...

Hi Shane,
Is it still the Merv Hannam saloon you're going to see in B'mouth? Only reason I ask is that on the PH add it's showing as SOLD - am hoping for your sake that that's because he's maybe reserved it for you...? Just wanted to check so you don't have a wasted journey...
Cheers,
Si

Yes it is Si,
Just called Charlie @ Merv Hannam and it's still available. You may be looking at the previous ad from some place in Manchester?? Thanks anyway.
MB2, I'll PM you if I need to come back down next week.

Hi Shane - this is the ad I was looking at which definitely says Merv Hannam (was the original link you posted)
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2227662.htm
But now I've done a fresh search on PH it's a different ad reference...although is the same car (guess they've posted a fresh ad but not removed the link to the old one). Anyway, it doesn't mention anything about being sold now, and the fact that you've spoken to them is the all that matters. Sorry if I worried you for nothing!
Hope the car's as good in the flesh as it sounds/looks - daytona saloon without black optics would've been my first choice but I couldn't find a good one when I was looking despite searching for 6 months...

Cheers Si,
This has come up too and 25 minutes from me. Not sure about the mileage though....

I obviously can't comment on the car as a whole (although it looks/sounds good), although personally I'm always wary of cars that are with 'trade centres'. I might be doing them a disservice though and they might be very good - do you know the dealership at all if they're only 25 mins away?
As far as mileage, I wouldn't personally be put off by that - my saloon's a March 06 and has done 66k miles (was on 58k when I bought it). As long as it's got FASH and has been serviced on time, has had any recalls sorted...and most importantly has no DRC problems then the mileage itself shouldn't be an issue. My guess is that as it's 4.5 years old now, you might expect DRC issues to have become apparent & resolved before now. If not, there's only 6 months (or 11k miles) on that car before the extended warranty on DRC issues expires...so it could end up being costly.
Hope that helps...
Si

Thank you,
No, don't know them at all. Ideally I want SS+, sunroof and then add a Milltek and remap myself but saw this was already done.
Doubt I'll go for it as I want a 2007 car with fewer miles hence the trip to Bournemouth.
Thanks for the feedback.

I agree; spec and condition are more important than mileage (mine has now done 70k).

OK,
So if I get to Luton and it's good nick I shouldn't let the mileage put me off? I just have it in my head to get something with as few miles as I can afford for that 'new car' feel.

Depends how many miles you do. I only do 5k pa so by the time I sell I should be back to average miles for the age of car.

I do around 10k per year and have done for the past 10 years or so. That's why I'm thinking it could hit 100k in 3 years and I don't want that.
I know it will get there eventually but I'd like to keep the RS4 until it dies (that's what I told the wife anyway).

Bit off topic, but I've noticed that Luton car has got the "V8" badges all over it...
Was than an OEM option or a Halfords job... I've only seen them on US cars before ?
