Yes - most now do (as I found to my cost) - make sure you check before you buy

Yeah that's all sorted i get on very well with master tech at swindon Audi he is fine with me supplying my own parts, they even do me trade prices on the labour being in the trade. He said today there is not a lot in the oil and that they normally use shell but they do change it from time to time, he suggested to use Mobil 1 and to take it off longlife servicing which i was going to do anyway, still not sure on what oil to use and what plugs your thoughts would be appreciated

Castrol edge I thought was the recommended, not that I expect it makes a difference as long as its the correct viscosity.

9.6 litres for the V8. you don't have to but I change my plugs every other service and there is some gain from doing that.

I agree, plugs at 30-35k miles is a good idea
not sure if that they are worn (mine looked pretty good at 30k) or just making them tight, I'm sure 8k rpm tends to loosen them up :D

i also agree changing the plugs is a good idea, had mine changed at 25k ngk [which are oem]... i am using silkolene pro s oil at the moment found it to be the best oil so far for this motor...

viscosity is one aspect but you also need to make sure it meets the various standards.

For examples, there's a huge difference between minerial group I & II, semi synth group III and fully synth group IV even if the SAE ratings are the same.
