Exhaust Question

Hi All.
I am looking at getting a custom made exhaust system for my car and my question is, can the stock exhaust be "unbolted" from the headers back. I dont want to have to cut out the old ones and weld in the new ones.
Also my car is still under a maintenance plan and would be easy just to bolt on the stock exhaust come service time.
I have looked at the diagrams on ETKA but they dont answer my question
Thanks

It is a one piece system IIRC so most cut their exhausts, that's what happened with mine. That said it was not welded together with the OEM section, it is clamped so is relatively easy to remove and replace with the OEM exhaust if it ever comes to need that.

So from the branches/headers back it's a 1 piece system ? Mmmm. Very strange. You see if i do the cut then the Audi guys will see what has been done and i risk losing my maintenance plan

They'll see you have a custom exhaust anyway? Andy change to the cats / pipe sections or back boxes would surely invalidate in the same way because they would be OEM parts?
I see now what you mean in your original explanation, I misread it. The headers are bolted to the one piece exhaust system which includes DP's and cats.

Ok, so i can unbolt it at the headers ?
When the car goes to Audi for a service i will merely bolt the stock system back on.

Don't know how easy / difficult it is to unbolt TBH. Plus if you have anything else goes wrong on the car you have to remove it each time? That's a fair bit of hassle, would you not be better asking if the maintenance plane will cover everything except the exhaust as per Audi Warranty?
