That's the price you pay when you start getting into detailing. I renewed my entire cleaning products a few years ago with a who new Megs set, including buckets with grit guards, mits, brushes and every type of cleaner/polish/wax etc. Its worth it, makes cleaning the car much more exciting. The ex got a bit pissed, spent more time on the car than her haha

I have not used any Dodo products but are up there with the best so I cant see you being disappointed, btw did you get the Red Mist product?

I have a lot of megs stuff, then I moved to NY for three years and I still have a cupboard full of it when I returned - I'm sure some of it may have gone off but not sure I can just throw it away and to renew, it would be expensive so am doing it bit by bit (shampoo, new mitts etc).

PS I find it difficult to clean my car (and I got two of them that need it) without getting grief so I might stick to someone else doing it. When I was really into it I would use a whole day no problem if waxing etc

initial spend is large, then you spend a bit here and there to top up things youve used.

something i need to resist is always trying the latest products on the market - but i say you get what you pay for.

i still use a £150 tub of wax on the car, and it only lasts about a year.

enjoy fella

People who have had true rotary's usually find DA's very slow in terms of results. I'm hoping Santa brings me a Kestrel DA6 Pro (with hexlogic pads) with higher rpm than the ordinary one that means it is somewhere in cutting performance between a DA and a rotary. Rotaries are a bit scary for me even with hard Audi paint.

I have some DJ bits now, I use their blue hardwax which lasts months & beads really nicely & their born to be mild shampoo mostly. Red Mist Tropical is a sealant & is good to top up the wax once it is losing its beading so more useful in the winter really.

If you use hardwax I find it quite hard to buff off so don't wax the whole car as easier if do a panel or two at a time.

The blue washmit for the wheels is excellent too - lets you clean inside the wheel easily - think you will be happy with the results even if Jay-Z isn't !

Have used it on several cars, it works really nicely on black. I used the tropical which still dries quickly, it adds a nice gloss sheen to any colour but less pronounced on lighter cars. Is really good for a quick re-fresh and makes the car look glossy but as said the water then seems to sheet rather than bead so I think is perfect for topping up the wax but as the DJ hardwax seems to last so well I haven't used it for a while...

One thing that is very important is not to spray it on a freshly waxed car as the solvents in it can react with the wax & make pink spots that are really hard to remove (don't ask how I know...)

Will definitley use again in the winter once the wax has faded, don't confuse with a "quick detailer" though as really it is a "spray sealant" that leaves the slick gloss look of a QD behind. Girl across the road has a black Cooper S which it brings up a treat as car doen't see much wax - like most products very good for its intended use.

I would say leave it at least 24 hours, the pink globules were really hard to remove ! I e-mailed DJ & they got straight back to me explaining where had gone wrong & that could either leave & will come off naturally or strip off with a harsh wash (was friend's one month old car with pearlescent white paint so rather worried at the time !)

In reality there is no point applying the RMT on top of wax as each does the same job but differently so I would save for "top-ups" or when you want the car to really gleam (until I made the mistake I added the RMT the next day or the next time I washed but as said the DJ hardwax means I don't need it so much now)

Whilst on the subject of cleaning I thought I would share a drying towel that I have been using which is simply brilliant. I have had plush drying towels before but this one is as good if not better but is also 60x90 cms in size, so enough to either cover half the bonnet or reach from one side of the car roof to the other to give you a visualisation of size. Where I hassave perhaps needed two towels to dry a car previously only one is needed on one side and then turn it over to buff up the paintwork / Aquawax / QD you have put on.

You can find them here;

Well worth the money and still retains its plushness after washing. Some of the towels I have had previously lose that after a couple of washes even using non bio gel but these do not.
