Hi,
Took my car for MOT yesterday and filled on the online form and took it with me but Audi dealer would not accept and they are adament it only applies to 2.0litre cars or under,
I know this has to be wrong as it doesnt matter what size engine you have, an MOT is the same regardless.
This isnt the best advertising I have seen, reward the customers spending 20k and not the ones spending 50k.

The free MOT is a big scam to get people in to save £30-£50 and then make it up many times over on repair work, some of it not necessary.
Maybe they are doing their £50k customers a favour on that basis?

I've had two free MOT's now two years running and no additional work was done on the car. They try to sell you the MOT protection for £50-55 to cover repair costs up to £750 IIRC but always said no to it and the car has sailed through each time.

In the last 6 months I have put the wife's 3.0TDi A6 and my RS4 through the free MOT without any additional work. When I went in with the RS4 the service rep was pushing the MOT insurance (for next year) to the extent that he was p*****g me off.

Have just rang Audi UK this morning and they confirm that the free MOT offer is just for 2.0litre cars and under,
Nice way to reward your best customers Audi!

They must have just changed it then as my MOT was done in June. Maybe too many cars are sailing through and they are getting little reward from it?

I have just drafted a letter to Audi UK, this has wound me up so much, if car over 2 litre dont apply for the offer, why can I select cars like an R8?

I registered a while ago when it took RS4s so I think it is more likely they have let them slip off the list although when I tried to register the other week it wasn't there.
I let the car pass the MOT & then when asked to pay showed the e-mail saying was free & they happily waived the fee.

My RS4 was done FOC a month ago, although I'd registered some time before that.
If they're now not doing it on cars above 2 litres, that rediculous! Yet another reason not to darken the door of the dealer now my warranty's expired!

Phil Gadbsy at Halesowen Audi said he'd do mine free and I didn't need to register (I don't know him, never been there before)
Presumably it's at the discretion of the dealership to some degree being a franchise, if you turn up in 5 year + car with potentially a long list I bet they'll be more accommodating
