Hi all,

I'm a newbie to a RS4 4.2V8 ownership. I used to own a RS2 before.

My question is... Is it normal for my RS4's oil temperature to be running

at 110-115 driving at 180 km/hr ?

Hi Chris

If it hasn't has an oil change in the last 5-6k miles then the oil temps tend to run higher than it would with fresh oil in it.

But those temps are still safe for the oil.

Sounds high given the airflow through the rads at that kind of speed. By comparison mine would be around 102c at that sustained pace.

Thanks guys..

It just had an oil change 300 miles ago.. Using factory Castrol edge fully synthetic.

Perhaps it's our weather here in Malaysia.. 36-38 celcius.

Thanks SR71.. That old link was a good read. Very conflicting though
