How does your RS4 compare to your previous car?

Post by warnhammar » Fri Oct 22, 2010 8:39 pm

Hey,

Just wanted to say it's been a few weeks since I bought the RS4 and I am over the moon! It is in a different league compared to the AMG and it is absolutely awesome as a point to point car!

Would be interested to hear what other RS4 owners have come out of and how the RS4 compares to their previous car?

Jon

the RS4 is a better car in every way...and that's no faint praise...

Had a C32 AMG, loads of torque but boring handling. Overall I really enjoyed the car but it was starting to become a little dated and had little annoying things about it!

It was time for a change and having previouly owned more hardcore cars I decided on the RS4. Best of both worlds.

I've been hearing a sl amg 6.3lt coupe these last couple of days and OMG the sound it makes is just way too awesome for a car. How did amg manage to achieve that particular sound.....

Came from a 997 911 Carrera, and haven't missed it at all! To all intents and purposes the driving experience is just as good (better in bad weather!) and because it's a more practical car I've driven it way more than I was the 911. The sound's much better as well, but the fuel economy's a fair but worse.
One other big difference is that with the 911 people used to think I was a flash bastard, whereas with the RS4 those in the know just appreciate the car and are genuinely interested in it, those not in the know just think it's a nice looking A4!

Drcarrera- I am glad you posted that! I was torn between a 997 C2S and the RS4 for ages. Looks like I made the right choice setting aside the high fuel consumption! :D

Had 2 B6 S4s before, the B7 RS4 is a "chalk & cheese" comparison.

The RS4 rides better, handles better and goes better. The S4s got "boring" after a few months, but the RS4 still makes me smile after over 4 years.

My RS4 is a bit faster, a bit better handling, a lot better built but not quite as discreet as my previous Mazda 6 MPS which was a lot of car for the money.
