If your are retrofitting you'll want to install the microphone as well. Bluetooth module goes inbehind the glove box, microphone in the roof mounted light cluster so wire has to be fed from module up inside the A-pillar trim and across to the console behind the head lining. A 1 hour job in total, 2 if you haven't removed trim parts in the car before.
Dependent on how much you get the parts for then it is a £500 max job for someone to do it for you.

I am look at doing the same thing too.
Can anyone advise the difference between the Audi OEM units offered on ebay and the Fiscon products. Links follow:
Audi OEM unit

Fiscon units

I figured that the Audi unit was the best bet but assume the Fiscon unit must offer additional features?

If only the Audi one was from the UK and not Poland as then I'd go for that. I wouldn't fancy trying to sort out any aftersales issues with someone that far away and with a possible language barrier.
The Fiscon one listed here is being sold by main dealer Huntingdon Audi!

www.audiretrofit.com seem to be using Fiscon

The main difference is with the Fiscon kit you have to use their mic which you locate on the headlining rather than in the interior light fitting which is why I went for the Audi kit.

I have done a bit more research and found that one of the major differences between the two is the FISCONS ability to support A2DP.
From what I understand this allows a compatible Bluetooth phone to play music through the cars head unit. eg. you could play music from your iphone without the need for a dedicated interface.
I am waiting to get this confirmed from FISCON but if it is true I do like the sound of it.
As for the mic, I am sure I came across an article last night that showed how to fit the FISCON mic in the interior light unit the same as the OEM kit. Will try and find that.
Will update when I get some feedback from FISCON.

Be careful as I believe the RNS-E just takes in mono via the car-kit as the interface was only designed to support speech so you may be disappointed with the sound quality...

MB2 your are spot on. Just got this back from Fiscon...
A2DP is in Mono, as it utilises the telephone input connection on the RNSE.
I use the SD slots to listen to most of my music but having music from the phone on occasion would be useful. I quess the question is what is the sound quality like in mono?
Anyone out there have Fiscon fitted and use the A2DP music streaming feature? Is the quality ok?

You can fit the Fiscon mic in the OE position

IMHO it would be cr*p, you would lose all the spatial information, it would be like all the instruments and vocals were all in a big heap in the centre of the sound stage.
If you even remotely like your music then my advice is don't even think about it.

in a previous car I had the new Parrot bluetooth kit, which also allowed music to be played through system from your iphone - in mono..
Sound quality was awful and I couldnt listen to it. No depth or tone to it...

Looking at the Fiscon site again there seems to be a 8 euro option for a mic that goes straight into the light & you can also update the firmware for new phones so looks a better choice now than when I looked into them last year

Thanks for the feedback. I think I have been deterred from buying the Fiscon kit on the groups of bluetooth music playback now.
So apart from that it looks like it boils down to a preference for OEM or aftermarket units. From what I can tell functionality is pretty much identical but the Fiscon unit can be updated easily in the future if required.
Looking at price, the Fiscon plus unit can be bought from Fiscon.co.uk for 245 inc VAT if you use the discount code scirocco123 if anyone is interested.
