18" S8 wheel offset too much?

My tyres will need replacing fairly soon so considering sticking on some Winters.
I have a set of 18" Avus alloys from a Mk1 S8 which I believe are 8" wide, ET48. (Not at home right now to check first-hand)
Looking at the Vredesteins, the price seems to be about £45 (each) cheaper for a 235 40 18.
BUT, is this offset too much to correct with spacers?
Also of course, would be the cost of the spacers..
And what about TPMS sensors?
Too much hassle?!

oem is ET 29, so 48 is way off
you would need a 20mm+ spacer to make them look right, (48 - 29) + 1/2 x 25.4 ~ 32 mm, and they would extend out same as oem 9x19 ET29

Ok thanks, looks like I'll be sticking with the original rims then!

Where did you try? I just ordered some 255's from mytyres, £198 a pop.
I'd already rang my usual guy in Glasgow who also had no problem sourcing them, albeit quite a bit more expensive...
