I must say, if I were going to swap for an RS5 then his would be the one. White with 20" wheels and cermaics. The post code on the number plate suggests Audi UK at Milton Keynes

There were about 20 lined up in a row outside the Audi "High Rise" in the Le Mans paddock this year. Mostly white & red but all with ceramics. Can't say I was very taken with them. Just looked way too ordinary for me. I'm sure it's a very good car though, if that's your thing.

I agree with Nib. I don't think they look any different to a regular S5 (which is a nice looking car) but not RS different. I had a good look around one at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (in white obviously). From what I've read about it, it doesn't sound like an proper RS car. Not my cup of tea. I'll stick with the RS4 thanks as it's the only car Audi has made recently that is fun to drive (along with the R8).

I must admit, if I spec'ed up an RS5 close to the options I have on my RS4 I would be close to the £70k mark which is £10 more than I paid for mine..........the question has to be is it £10k more driving/looks/fun?

I'm not convinced but I haven't driven one yet so I'll reserve final judgement

I like the understated looks...
it's a big coupe though, M6 territory

need to see one 'in the metal' before I'll really know if I like it...

I had a good look round my local dealers demo the other day. In terms of looks, I've held off judgement until seeing one for myself but I was really disappointed - even the salesman was a bit depressed about it!

Where the RS4 is understated, it's also classy and aggressive. For me the RS5 just looks bloated, and way to close to the S5.

I'll be taking it for a drive next week so will be good to see how it goes but first impressions were not good!

Yep, agree with you. It just looks like any other A5 and for the money that's hugely dissapointing.

Rob - have you still got Godzilla?

I think part of the lack of 'aggressive-ness' is the fact the design of the car does not lend itself, as it's RS predacessors do to 'bubble' arches.

This is a big attraction for me, reminds me of the Mk1 rally escorts of old as a kid !

Saw a couple of RS5's at Autostadt in August, red and grey, they're alright IMO, bit better in the metal than in photos.

One thing that was a put-off was the fake oval exhausts - did i see correctly ?? :?

Still prefer the RS4 though

I test drove one recently purely on the grounds that it will probably have to be the RS4 replacement. Not to be too negative, it's a superb car, but certainly visually and from the driving seat, it just didn't push the right buttons the way the RS4 continues to do.

I saw the red one at autostadt recently too,my honest impression of the car was it looked like a high end model but not an RS,no FBSW arches not really any different to standard, wheels look great though would like a set fot the 4

but the wheels are not unique to the RS 5, they were first seen on the TT RS and are no part of the S3 black edition spec etc

hardly exclusive like RS wheels used to be, until they stopped production
