Thanks I had a look at this.

It basically states the 18" wheel size as follows: 8-1/2"J x 18" ET24

Now I have seen several sets of 18" wheels on fleabay but most state an offset of ET35 or ET42 and a width of 8" not 8-1/2", though they all came off A4's??

1. Would a wheel with an 8" width and offset of 35 to 42 fit on the RS4
2. What makes the RS4 requirements differ to those of standard A4's

Thanks

The big flared arches & the large brakes are the reason our wheels have a different offset.

Calculator here http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp will show you the effects but basically the ET42s will pull in an inch - you could fit spacers to restore the offset as you might find it difficult to get wheels with the correct offset in 18

ok so if I understand correctly a 8" x 18" ET35 wheel with a 15mm spacer should fit??

I run a spare set of standard 19" wheels on mine with Vredestein Wintrac tyres in the standard size (255/35/19). I have to run 19"s as I have Ceramics, but any particular reason why you are going 18"? Remember you will need TPMS sensors as well.

I am running RS4 B5 wheels. 18x8 5x112 ET:21 IIRC. 18's seem to enhance acceleration in a veery nice way.

Looking for a set of Winters and I am just trying to do it for a decent price. lots of sets of 18" wheels out there but not so many 19" - also the tyres are considerably better priced for 18's

Are the TPMS sensors easy to fit? Do they attach to any wheel or does it need to be special??

I think they will probably fit to most wheels, but not 100% sure on that.

Understand the cost side of things, but you could always buy a set of 19" winter tyres and just swap them over with your summer tyres? Would save you the cost of another set of wheels, sensors, centre caps etc.

You can turn the TPMS off in VCDS easily enough so this might be a lot cheaper than buying another set ?
