Hi all, Newbie question....

I,ll start by saying this is a great forum and has helped immensely in pointed me in the right direction when purchasing my dream Audi.

My question: I'm after some wheel spacers, back and front. Having done some inquiries there seem's to be lot's of choice and opinions.

if you guys could point me in the right direction to the preferred setup that would be great, also where can i purchase spacers from??

thanks

i'll post some pics also

10mm each axle at the rear seems to be the general concenus if you want to be able to put 275 tyres on. If sticking to 255 it is possible get away with a bit at the front but can't comment as only have 10mm at the rear.

I got the H&R ones were great quality, fit the hub & wheel perfectly - you have to bolt through them so will get longer bolts so will either need to buy new longer locking wheel nuts or plastic caps from Audi to cover the non-locking bolts.

There are a couple of threads if you search spacer with some photos, part nos etc.

Welcome to the forum.

Virdee on here sells the H&R spacers which seem to the better make, Make sure there Hub-centric type. As above really depending on tyre width. If you are running STD 255s, then 10mm rear (20mm Axel width) and 8mm front (16mm Axel width) will be fine. some have gone 12mm (24mm Axel width) rear.

This will change the dynamics of the cars handling, and is recommended to get a 4WLA done due to the camber and trust changes.

You can fit 275 tyres without having to fit spacers, but if you want spacers I'd agree that 10mm seems the max to avoid 275's rubbing.

10 mm hubcentric rears and 3mm plain fronts (any larger and wheel isnt properly located and 10 mm hubcentrics on the front were a bit ott for me)

They will effect handling, In some cars for the better. I have not yet used the car with spacers on, I have a set to go on shortly (10r-8f).

However the more extreme spacers will cause more wear and tear on bearing and Axel components, so be advised. Max 10mm would be sufficient.

thanks guys, i'm running 255's so 10mm rear 3mm up front sounds good.
