Carbon Parts

I recall a few owners on here wanting to change the front lower splitter for Carbon fiber, I think an owner on here was going to do some, did it happen?
If it did was there anything more than a cosmetic change, I am looking for a way to get better air flow to the oil cooler, can’t hurt and I think it’s a great look.

Fingers crossed, this might be the first thread in the last 12 months that has carbon in the title that won't end up in arguing!! :beerchug:

But I've only been here 6 months. Are you suggesting the carbon debate was raging before I came on to the scene?

If I recall it was Tartan Rob who knew something about these parts, are you still around Rob?

It was Rob but since he has given up his RS4 I suspect he won't be fabricating parts. It wasn't a mass produced item anyway, Youry was also going to make these but that never happened. I believe there may now be two RS4's with a cf oil cooler splitter but that's it. We had a look at cf rear diffusers as well bit again a very difficult bit to fabricate.

If it is just for aesthetics, you could try wrapping it in 3M Dinoc, otherwsie good luck in your search as I do not knwo anyone else who produces them. Pity.

I got mine from Youry a couple of years ago, you can check with him as he was going to start producing them again.

Would love to contact him, pls pm me his info, found the guys in Belgum who make them but I like the way Rob was going to do it with the step down to increase the size of the opening. Thanks again.

Here's my carbon fiber accents. All jobs were custom done.

I really want to do a carbon fiber exhaust surround but it's one piece with the bumper.....

I think I will try and create my own using the following 3M wrap.

That front splitter looks really good in CF, the side covers have seen on eBay US as stick on jobs, both would be easy to cover in film too I guess.

my b-pillars are not the stick-on ebay stuff. The cf vinyl wrap is good stuff, but not real carbon fiber. It also has a matte finish. I've been contemplating whether or not to wrap the exhaust surround with the same fabric

Sorry, I didn't mean they were vinyl, the ones I saw on eBay were thin pieces of CF cut to size that stick onto the B-pillars.
