LOL indeed, they must be special RS4 wiper blades.

Also need to get a new terminal cover 66A05, a steal at £5.

try buying a oil filter i think they retail at £29 when it looks like the same one that was in my new tts which cost £8,think the rs badge has something to do with it,asked about a oil+filter change deal that the stealers are doing, was told it has to be over 3 years old to qualify(great i thought dont need to get dirty),when the nice lady asked what model i had i was told sorry sir this offer does not include the rs model range, now i know it takes more oil but could they not say yes sir but the oil will be a bit more as it takes 10 liters :?

Afraid not. I was offered an oil service deal, £99 inc. VAT so booked it in. Too good to be true I checked again and sure enough it was, I had been misquoted an A4 oil service price and the actual cost was £320 and they wouldn't budge. When I mentioned trading standards they gave me a 15% discount on labour charge. So ended up being £105 plus me providing the oil at £60 so effectively 1/2 their original correct quote.

Knowing the cost to the trade of the filter, washer and Platinum oil from TPS (genuine Audi), I think £99 inc VAT is not impossible outside the dealer network, parts and oil would be under £50

Isn't the RS4 oil filter the same as the Phaeton but twice the price? Or was that just a t'internet rumour?

Same part number = same price
According to ETKA the filter also fits A6, A6 Allroad, A8, Q7, R8 and Touareg, all of which are V8s (though curiously it doesn't fit V8 S4)
IS there a Phaeton V8?

I had the service on my S4 last year and when i went to collect it they had charged me about 36 quid for 2 new wiper blades. I pointed out that there was nothing up with the old ones and I had not authorised the work and offered them the option of putting my old ones back on. Two minutes later - new bill with a discount equal to the price of the wiper blades - free blades woohoo (well 389 quid for the service so not exactly SO free but you get the drift).
Always a good one for unauthorised work - the contractual remedy being restitution - but the old parts will nearly always have been thrown away!!!

Yes, breakdown roughly is;

£165 for oil
£120 inc. VAT for 1 hour labour
£33 for Oil Filter

What's the difference between the S4 and RS4 one then? Because my S4 one (part num 079198405A) was only £11.43 from TPS

Edit- the S4 shares with the V8 Phaeton.

Rs4 shares with R8 has different shape end caps and a little nozzle on the base. Very little difference, twice the price.(part number 079198405B)

Taken from ECS tuning

Cheaper than a Renault Scenic......... :bigblink:

I did hear that Camberley have decided to no longer accept customer supplied oil for servicing. Management decision I'm told....

Tyneside want to see the oil you are supplying first before proceeding so there is no liability on them for fitting it which is fair enough.
