DRC at 5 bar!

For the first time since I bought the car (3 weeks ago), my DRC is now working correctly.

Hereford Audi were supposed to have fixed it before I picked up the car but they didn't quite get it right.

I booked it into my local Audi dealer (Nottingham) and they bled and re-pressurised the system today - the car handles so much better now. This coincides with me getting some 99 octane in as well so I'm all :)

The pressure was down at 5 bar before but is now up to 16 bar.

So a :thumbs: to Nottingham Audi for a good service.

Have to say the loan car i had (2010 A4 TDi) didn't seem to have as good build quality as my RS4. Are standards slipping or is this an effect of recession cost cutting?

Glad you got it fixed finally, but disappointing some dealers cannot fix DRC properly.

Hi Steve,

Glad you got it sorted mate, as I say I am amazed that South Hereford Audi did not get it right as they are our dealer of choice. However, I may now have to reconsider.

Pleased its all sorted and I trust, by the lack of phonecall, all sorted under warranty as it should of been?

it sounds like when your system was initially worked on the guys (Hereford) who did it messed up...
it's a fairly tricky procedure...

Not tried them mate, are they any good?

We use South Hereford as the service you get from them is second to none. Nothing is to much trouble, and compared to our local stealership they are worlds apart.

However, if their work is sub standard we may have to reconsider.

After all it is our reputation on the line and not all customers are as understanding as Steve.

Sorry to ask quite probably a daft question regarding the DRC but I'm a new RS4 owner.

How do you know what pressure you are getting with the DRC and also, what are the signs that it might be "playing up"?

AFAIK, only a Dealer can assess what pressure your dampers are at.

Clunking noise, pulling to one side, leaking damper.

Camberley Audi are the probably the most experienced RS4 dealer. Worth a trip there.

And do update this thread if it transpires you do have a DRC issue.

The pressures are what the dealer quoted to me. Ideally yours will be between 14 and 16.

At low speeds the front wheel felt 'loose' and I could hear some chattering over bumps. At higher speeds it was more of a wallowing feel.

If in doubt, take it to your dealer and ask them to check it.
