Been a while since my last post - coming back to the RS fold

Afternoon gents.
It's been nearly 2 years since my last post on this site, well on the B5 RS4 forum. I was 'this' close to buying an RS4 then bought a perfect E46 M3 instead off a friend as I was concerned about reliability issues with the B5 model.
My daughter is now 4 and the wife has given the nod to get a B7 RS4 estate and sell the M3. I have to say, I've had fun in the M, chipped, tuned and de-restricted.. Makes for fun on the continent I can tell you, but ten a penny around here, moreover the young blade drivers are starting to get into them now the price is coming down which is taking away the appeal quickly.
Is anyone here thinking about selling? I looked here last time and found this site very useful, especially when it comes specialist kit like this.
I'm looking for the following:
Must be an estate in either black or grey with bucket seats and mileage under 30K - pref privacy glass.
I will be looking to spend around 28k depending on the spec.
All the best,
J

Welcome back.
An avant in grey/black with buckets is a great choice, and therefore likely to be early 30's with the lowish mileage you are after. Try and buy with an extended warranty. Original Manufacturer's warranty cars still around, but as they will be late 07, may be more expensive.
Have you looked on Pistonheads?

Thanks,
I have to say, it's good to be back.
Looking at Pistonheads every day. I'm very keen to say the least. The wife is French so there's going to be lots of drives from Bournemouth to Nantes coming up.. be very rude of me not to have a new RS4 for the trips ahead, besides, my daughter is more of a car snob than me. She loves the M3, told her I was selling it and she replied "well daddy, you better buy another nice car quickly, I don't like the other one".
I don't mid spending a bit more for the right car, I was thinking of waiting until next Jan as prices always seem to drop a bit around the new year and I have a second car to fill me in, but to be honest, I really can't be bothered with the wait.
If there's a good buyers guide thread knocking about that would be handy. I find there's always more to the RS models than meets the eye.

I'm liking this one and know Ashley who owns the company, test drive time I think. Is there a big service at 30K?

That looks perfect for your needs.
Call Audi for the service history. Check DRC has been done (but warranted by Audi in any event till 2011 in your case), Discs may need changing. But since you know the seller, you are in a very good position anyway.
Nice selection of cars you have had, including the inspiration for the RS4's.

There is a Sprint Blue Avant at the car dealer at Sandbanks that has been there a few months - haven't looked at it but maybe worth a look if you like the colour ?

Agree with what you're saying regarding the E46 M3, that's one of the reasons i sold mine. Too many idiots with bling bling wheels and halfords add ons getting hold of them now.
You'll love the rs4. Did you have a manual or SMG M3?

Big service in respect that it has plugs and perhaps brake fluid change over standard oil & filters change (AVS1) but AVS2 should only cost you at Audi circa £500.

Nice car but seems a bit over-priced to me. If you could get it for £31k or £32k inc a warranty I'd be tempted.....

I've seen that one, £29,995 but has 45+k on the clock if I remember correctly.. It's been there for a while as you say, drive past it most days and it keeps reminding me whats next on the car ownership list. Not sure about the color to be honest.
I'm going to speak with Ash and take a look at the black one tomorrow.
M3 was a manual, again, not a fan of the SMG gearbox. Manual all the way.
Any of you chaps around the Bournemouth or Poole area?

That's good value, and it's got bluetooth too. And probably a warranty also.
