Loving The Car - Just not Audi Dealers!!!

Have been thoroughly enjoying my ownership of my RS4 - even my mother in law has been impressed with it!!. My car is high on the miles but had been maintained in immaculate condition by aka_dk. In my short time with it I have been really careful to do the same until it went in for a service on Thursday!!

As well as a number of other issues, I found (was not told!) that they had managed to curb 3 of the 4 alloys which were unmarked when I took the car in. They have said they will get them refurbished but as you can imagine my trust in them is not that high at the moment especially considering they were trying to claim that they had recorded marks on the job sheet yet when I asked to see it they said that their after sales guy had taken it with him!!

Has anyone else had a similar experience? If so does anyone have any advice on what steps I should be taking to ensure they follow through on their promise to make things right.

Thanks.

Sorry to hear this. Spoils the ownership experience

Dealership name?

Dealer wheel refurbs are normally of a mediocre standard - ask them to get all 4 wheels refurbed by Lepsons/pristine (used by Audi UK).

I've had a wheel kerbed twice by the dealer (Mayfair / Victoria Audi). Both times I was offered a refurb but insisted on (and got) a new replacement.

Make sure the refurbishment is done properly. If not tell them you will exchange your damged/refebished wheels for a clean set off one of the lot cars. They probably will balk at this

I had two of my wheels refurbished and it looked like a 5 year old finger painted the blemishes. Unfortunately I was responsible for the blemish and not the dealer.

If you are not happy demand new or undamaged use wheels. Replacement wheels are very expensive. I have a feeling you will not like the refurbished look.

If the dealer will not cooperate find a lawyer. It may be cheaper for the dealer to replace the wheels.

Good luck

best to find out which company they use to refurb?then see if you can get some feedback on how good their work is...

I had an experience once with Docklands Audi when I had my RS 6, I took it there 1 week after buying it from them as it had some issues they didn't both to repair before selling it....on picking it up I was told they have accidently kerbed a wheel and wanted the car back in to refurb it...when I inspected all 4 wheels, for the life of me, I couldn't see any marks at all...until I noticed the tiniest scratch! I told them not to worry about it, but appreciated their honesty

Obviously your dealership took the complete opposite approach and tried to con you...

Have you taken it up with the management at the dealership? Is the service dept might try and brush it under the carpet...but if you let management know of what their service monkeys have done they might be more caring about your customer experience...

Oxford Audi.
Management are aware and after sales manager is looking into it. To be fair to them they have said that they would get things sorted and refurb all 4 alloys. They seemed pretty sorry - maybe one of the plus sides of having an RS4 - they don't want to p**s us off! Not sure I would have had the same response had I been driving a run of the mill car.
However, I am not too trusting given that they did not own up in the first place!! Emailed them today to make sure I get it in writing that they will rectify the problem.

Having read some of these threads I am not sure I really want them to refurb the wheels - do they really look that bad?

Dealers have now confirmed in writing that they will put things right which is good news. They say they use a company called Wheels (Hampshire based). Does anyone know of them or had any work done by them? Any comments much appreciated.

I'd insist they use Lepsons's branch in Swindon. Got to be closer than Hampshire & they'd probably collect from the dealer too.

I've never had a 'smart fix' job last, especially on wheels. Wheels may be a perfectly good company doing an excellent job but, Lepsons are tried & tested by many here. Their work does seem to be as good as OE.
