Since changing my tyres a few weeks ago I noticed the handling started to become more and more slushy at speed.
On a dual carriageway last week I changed lanes and it felt like the back end was a trailer rather than part of the car.. It felt quite dangerous so I booked into my local dealer.
I suspected DRC and Audi held onto it for 2 days this week.

I picked it up yesterday and it seems I was right, DRC knackered! All chaged under extended warranty (my car now just over 3 years old). What a transformation, it now feels like a new car! Lots flatter around corners, it feels great. I feel like I've been putting up with bad handling for a while, probably before the tyres were changed - and there's me thinking it was just the tyres..

Looking forward to go out later for a proper drive.

Glad to see you had your DRC replaced in 2 days.

Yes I too was surprised of the quick turn-around. Maybe they were desperate to get their A4 TDi loan car back!

No, it's just that a DRC fix is as common as an A4 Tdi service.
Parts in plentiful supply now,there was shortage early in the year.

Was just driving back from parents down empty dual carriageway and decided to do a gentle slalom between lanes to check "stiffness"...

Same problem again! Not half as bad but still getting a similar feeling, only milder. I'm a little disappointed about this to be honest. Not even 3 weeks with the car back with "renewed DRC" and ~250 miles later. I'm wondering if the old system was just bodged/seals changed. Is this a possibility?
I wish I'd done this test straight away after picking it up as it appears it is the easiest way to feel the problem at early stages.

Tut tut another few days in a diesel.. Or maybe I insist on something more appropriate this time for the inconvenience.

PS it would be interesting for other owners to carry out their own tests and reporting back on what they feel!

Nick, when they changed your DRC did they do the job overnight or in and out in one day?

I just wonder whether your system has not been pressurised correctly and that is why it feels a bit off. Pressure IIRC in the system should be 14Bar. I know Audi say tolerance is 12+ Bar but TBH you can feel the difference even then.

Thanks P G. They had car for 2 days and recall the rep saying they had changed front shocks and rear struts (or vice verca, can't remember which way) and some other gubbins. I have a copy of print out somewhere.

Just been to Ashbourne and Matlock for a good run and although I can get some speed up I don't trust it on fast left-right, right-left type bends as it feels unsettled.

I wonder if the tracked the car after new suspension struts were fitted? I think audi cost cutting keeps this to a minimum,i had a new suspension arm fitted and they wouldnt track it,made a cock n bull story about my front tyres being lowish so couldnt do it

I'm sure someone told me there are only 2 Audi centres in the UK that have the correct kit to fully pressurise the system, is this right, and how much is it to go for the K&N option?

YOu have to have the correct DRC II pressurisation tool. I know my local dealer frnachise share theirs between 4 outlets as it is £1.5K+ some try using the DRC I tool which doesn't work as well.

I would imagine it would be a case of asking them if they have the proper tool first but I'm sure there will be more than 2 in the country.

Blimey. Telling the dealer how to do their job isn't really something I'd consider at this stage. From a customer perspective, Audi is Audi and they should all have the corrrect tools and knowhow to complete this warranty work.
