Tight second gear?

Post by RS4VR » Wed Jun 09, 2010 3:08 am

My 2nd gear on my 2008 seems pretty picky.

If I drive conservatively, it takes a good amount of effort to shift into 2nd f my revs are around 2-3k, but it goes on super easily at higher revs.

No grinding, 7k mi on car.

If I shift from 1st to 2nd or 3rd o 2nd, I have to wait a coulple of seconds otherwise I get resistance when try and engade 2nd.

Sometimes, If I push through the resistance with clutch in , I feel like I rub aganst some movng gear teeth.

It's worse when cold fwiw.

Normal? Any adjustments that can be made?

Thx

Is this pretty normal?

Mine has been like this since new, now with 30k on the clock. Could be a 'feature'.

I have this but only when first setting off. Once its warmed up its fine. I would certainly point it out to the dealer and have it checked/sorted
