Hey guys
So let me explain, I am at the Sepang F1 track in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia last weekend, I am on my best lap by far, at the end of the back straight changing down from 200kmph to ard 100 to take the last corner to the main straight when the clutch pedal goes down but doesn't come back up!!
I think Ive boliled the 'special'racing brake/clutch fluid and got some kind of air bubble in the clutch line, so I pit and try n wait for it to cool down. Needless to say it wasnt that. Apparently I have killed my clutch. Please see photos below.
Fristly has anyone done this before. Secondly can anyone tell me how much replacemnt parts should be??
I asume new clutch plate, at minimum, anyone know how much each part should be??
3 photos here and will post more on new reply
Thanks

Damn, but you sure it was no the hydraulic hose that had split and caused the clutch to fail, its a common problem on these cars. It happened to me. symptoms as you describe.
why not go for a Sachs replacement?

Hey Cruising, Thanks.... will check that but dont think it was the hydrylic hose ...Not sure if the Sachs will be as city friendly as OEM , if anyone has experience I'd be happy to hear what they thought of that as a replacement. Is the Sachs super heavy on the left leg over the OEM???
cheers

Sachs is slightly heavier but by no means super heavy. The difference is similar to 911's (996/997) that I have driven compared to the RS. I use mine (which has a sachs kit) daily on city commute without a problem and believe you me it was one of my big concerns prior to getting it fitted.

Go for the Sachs. The Audi clutch is not up to the job - why they fit such a weak clutch in this car I don't know; cost cutting I assume. The Sachs is a great clutch, you won't be dissapointed.

thx guys I have ordered the Sachs..... for the record I have only 18,000 km on it, chipped, remapped, gruppe m intake, milltex non res cat back, the sports cats were just sick loud had to go back to stock cats, and steel braided brake lines.........
good thing though the brakes on the rs4 rock, trust me i have pushed them to the limit..... otherwise from experience the best brakes i have ever seen are the massive alcons on my mates GTR, ridiculously good if you can afford them..... the rs4 oem are pretty damm good though, long live the rs4!!
cheers for the help guys
PS if anyones reading from Asia the team led by James at Maximus Racing here in Singapore offer a level of care and service rarely seen these days, they are highly recommended.

Your car sounds like a good spec, I had a GruppeM on my car.
