Coolant level keeps dropping...........

Hi,

Bought my RS4 in November and since then I have done 2500miles and have had to top up the coolant 3times where its just been showing below the minimum mark.

I cant find any leaks and the undertray is squeeky clean, it still under warranty but was going to get it sniff tested and pressure tested to see if I have a serious issue.

Has any else had problems with coolant?

Thanks in advance,

Tom

Hi, same here. Check both small radiators. Mine is KO on drivers side (left side driving). Hope that water isnt "eaten" by engine.

Good luck

+1

A known weakness on the B6 and the B7 is the auxiliary radiators.

I had to have the offside auxiliary radiator replaced last year. No sign of stone damage, just corrosion due to water being trapped against it.

Thanks for both of your fast responses! I will get the undertray back off this week and get looking, how likely is it that this would be covered by Audis used car warranty?

Thanks,

Tom

If you have the pink coolant, this stuff dries, and the crystals are easy to spot. I would get it u on a ramp and get it inspected. as above the Aux rds are a weak point. Also the alternator is water cooled, check this too. the alternator might be the problem.

Yep, another here, both aux rads are on the list of things to do, just been living with the small amount of coolant loss for the last 9 months.

Oddly it's losing less coolant than it did last year, maybe temp related?

Hi,

Had a look 2day at radiators and both wet all round the edges with coolant, I have Audi used car warranty, any ideas if this should be covered?

Also there is an oil feed pipe leading from the front of the sump which is heavily corroded, is this the common one the corrode?
