Most pointless option...
My vote is the glovebox coolbox. The breadknife managed to snap the Nav DVD by trying to shut it in there.
I like the idea of cracking open a cool can of shandy in the summer months but i doubt this will ever happen in reality.
Adaptive lights then? or maybe electric rear blind?

Non buckets seats!

I thought double glazing on an RS4 was a pretty useless one. Just what you need to keep that terrible engine & exhaust note out!

Cool box I can see the merits of but take up valubale storage space and for a cold can your A/C can do just as good a job if you put your drink in the dash mounted cup holder and then blast the central A/C vents only at it on 'LO' (close all others)
Electric rear blind is a cool nice to have but then I like toys. Probably why I have an RS4! And adaptive lights on a country road in the middle of winter are a Godsend.
For me it is cruise control. It uses more fuel than my right foot and it is a lazy option.
One of the more useful items albeit standard and not an option is the third sunvisor, genius!

Agree for the most part, but handy for the miles of SPECS roadworks (or if you get cramp on a long journey!)P_G wrote:For me it is cruise control. It uses more fuel than my right foot and it is a lazy option
Coloured seatbelts at £1,100 would get my vote - closely followed by swapping the RS mirrors for standard folding ones...

Re: RE: Most pointless option...
My vote goes to the RS sports steering wheel in suede.
Costs a lot (not sure how much
) but after less than 5kmiles of driving, it will look like unsightly unless you wear gloves all the time.
Great for motor sport, but not so great for an everyday practical sports car.

have you seen the new A8 on the Audi config ? you can spec a 4.2TDI to £140k !! there is a £30k interior seat package! yes £30k!!!Dom81 wrote:P_G wrote: Coloured seatbelts at £1,100 would get my vote..
Re: RE: Most pointless option...
I saw elsewhere that a full spec RS5 can cost Euros 112,500, about £97k at current exchange rates. That's a bargain compared to the A8.aka_dk wrote:

My vote goes to the automatic air recirculation option.
Works OK with a smelly petrol car in front of you in a queue, but when you REALLY need it because of the stinky smoky diesel car in front of you it does nothing.

Generally the most useless option that comes with any Audi is the stealer..

Poor Americans got a poxy twin cup holder instead of a electronic "start" button, that sucks imho

They also have horrendous additional lights / reflectors fitted on their front and rear bumperssonny wrote:Poor Americans got a poxy twin cup holder instead of a electronic "start" button, that sucks imho

Edit: Add to that, MFSW and Recaro Seats only. Ref Page 13 http://rs246.com/downloads/AudiRS4B7/Do ... Launch.pdf

Unfortunately that is American law and not an option. The cup holders as it was decided would appeal more to the Americans buyers than a sports button apparently, any how the button should have been key less start.
