Headlamp flickering

Hi Rs4 2006 Near side headlight flickers on dip and full beam and sometimes go out and warning comes up on dash ,switch on off igniton and light works fine, i guess it is the ballast ? where is the best place to get one and what type ,and has anyone managed to remve a headlamp with out removing bumper ? and is removing bumper big task ?

could be the bulb also, not necessarily the ballast ??

I have the same problem and my dealer tells me the bulb should be changed.

Cheers i will try swapping over bulb first
