anyone know this car?
anyone know this car?
Evening all - I have just registered as I'm looking for an RS4 estate - the v8 variety.
I would like help on a few things!!
I have paid a deposit on a car today at Audi Leeds - KK07FUJ
look here - if this works! http://usedcars.audi.co.uk/carview.aspx?id=600921712
I havn't seen the car and am taking the dealers word for it that the car is in good nick!
It is the lowest mileage one on the audi used car locator that I could find.
a couple of things have concerned me!
It has budget tyres on it!!! Why would anyone do this on a car like that? The dealer is swopping the wheels with another rs4 they have in stock with pirellis on it.
Next, and depending on written confirmation from Audi and the dealer that this will not cause issues down the line! The car has only just had its first service according to the service book. I know they have 20k intervals (not that I would ever wait that long) but surely 3 years is too long? or it would deem any warranty on the car as being useless?
In summary - does anyone know the car or can any of you shed light on this?
I will post this up in general too in order to get maximum response.
Many thanks
Rich

RE: anyone know this car?
Looks a bit over pricedn mate
RE: anyone know this car?
Bring up the interior photo to 100% and spot the make up marks all over the centre console and buttons which could suggest lady owner?
If so I guess its not been driven "properly" hence the cheap replacement tyres.
They could at least have wiped up some of that muck off the glovebox and hoovered before taking photos.

RE: anyone know this car?
Id view that car carefully,18k and its into its second set of tyres and has that much wear on the seat bolster!!! Leeds is very active in all aspects of motor dealing i shall say no more!! Could well be a town car with alot of stop start short trips hence the seat wear just tread carefully and inspect it well, its a bit steep on the money it needs to be tip top origonal condition for that kind of money,if your buying low mileage i presume its to get one with the least wear and tear? Id buy on condition overall not purely mileage, good luck hope its a nice in the flesh

OMG, I just noticed that it's a dealership car. I assumed it was a dodgy private sale. That's shocking. Like jonathon said, disgraceful.

It would be great if someone could shed some light on it for me!sonny wrote:wow

My biggest concern however is that it only had its first service at nearly 3 years old! The audi service database has been checked and there is nothing on file until the car was accepted into stock by Leeds.
Basically - I don't want to end up owning a nail - If I was looking around the £30k mark, I could accept a bit of wear & tear & maybe a painted front wing etc. but at close to £40k I want a minter with no headaches.
I am very close to walking away from this car at the minute purely based on the fact that it had <beep> tyres on it and no service until 3 years old.
If I walk away from this on then I will either be getting a s4!! or a £30k rs4 - I would have thought the lowest mileage one on the sudi network would almost guarantee a minter! it's not looking that way.
Cheers
Rich

A tatty RS4 with no history for £38k? What's to consider? Don't walk away, run away!rs4vant wrote:

Why are Audi even selling this car. Hardly inspires confidence...

Ask Audi to put the number plate in there system, the cars VRN will show any recorded service history, these cars can be clocked,

In my opinion, is shouldn't be walk away, but run away.
Looks very tatty inside for 18K miles. My car is upto 37K and still looks pristine inside (and out for that matter)
Is that make-up marks on the interior, or forensic fingerprint dust?
As has been said before, Audi record the mileage each time it visits the dealer. If the car has never seen an Audi dealer, then its mileage could have been tampered with and nobody would ever know!
Just looks too fishy. Having said that, if it was fully valeted, I'm sure it would look right... and bear in mind we have been through some tough financial times, and cheap credit meant it was easier for people to get into these cars, but then along come the running costs

Re: anyone know this car?
To compare, my car's an 07 plate Avant (first registered in March 2007) on less than 17K miles. It's had two services (one in Q3 2008 and one in Q1 2010) and a separate brake fluid change (in Q1 2009). The brake fluid change should, I think, be undertaken at the two year point no matter what the mileage is (I think this is right but someone will correct me if it isn't).rs4vant wrote:I know they have 20k intervals (not that I would ever wait that long) but surely 3 years is too long?
With the servicing, a lot depends on what sort of driving (stop/start, motorway, etc.) has been done but three years' wait for its first service seems an inordinate amount of time. I'd continue my search elsewhere if I were you.
