Tyre pressure sensors

Can pressure sensors be re-used, or are they wheel specific?

Basically, I have tyre monitoring on my car, but if I swap wheels can I use the sensors in the old wheels or do I need new ones?

They can be re-used. I have two sets for each set of wheels.

Can the computer be told not to activate the TPMS (Tyre Pressure Management System)?? If you decide not to use these sensors?? If so does anyone know how?

Yes with a VAG - go to Instruments (17), Adaptation, Channel 61, and recode from the default of 3843 to 3331.

Frankly, it made no sense to me to pay big $$'s for a set of sensors for my winters since I check my pressure regularly.
