Hello all, looking to buy an RS4 in the next few weeks, do not really want to pay much over 30k but will for the right car. Like most colours but would prefer blue or black. Looking for less than 30k mies but again am flexible. If anybody knows of any out there that they can recommend i would appreciate it. I like in Kent but am happy to travel for the right car.

Many thanks and must add this is a great forum

oh and must have Recaro's and flat bottom s/wheel as i see some have not.

What year of car are you looking at purchasing, remember, models that are newer than March/April 2006 will be liable for the higher Road Tax. just bare that in mind as part of your running costs, so it is not that bad an idea to buy a older model, has its perks.

Have not seen many that old, did they have the orange indicators as well.
Are there any other changes i should be aware of. I have noticed some have different wheels as well.

Thanks

Running changes from 2006, minor interior mods such as chrome strips on buttons, and the indicator became clear from towards the end of 2006 (think), cant think of any more changes right now.

Some models had the 18'' wheel options, mostly USA models. only other options was the colour. Audi silver and Titanium option (gun metal wheels and mirrors).

My car is from March 2006.

You're right Shawg, the most obvious change is the one from orange to white indicator lenses, which happened for the 2007 model year.
IIRC, other changes that happened for this mini facelift include a larger diameter clutch return pipe and some bits of silver appearing on the buttons above the satnav. I think the cupholder was tweaked too.
The only other standard wheels I can think of are the NCO 18" alloys, which were 5 spoke as opposed to the much more common 7 double spoke ones.

Edited to add Sonny can type quicker than me.

just realised the RS4 runs on super unleaded, is that what you guys prefer or is it recommended. May be a dumb question but is it available at most garages. Will check in my locals when i next fill up. My M5 runs on anything. I filled her up on Super ages ago when i was in France and it made no difference so carried on with 95.
Thanks

It is definitely recommended, and it works out cheaper than "normal" unleaded.

Why?

Because the higher sulphur content of normal unleaded means the pre cats need to be purged more often, and that process burns more fuel. So mpg with super is about 10% better, which more than offsets the increased cost.

I don't usually have a problem getting super (although the local Morrisons doesn't sell super but it does sell bio diesel?), not even in remote parts of rural France on holiday.
