My RS 4 has GSM phone prep which i believe therefore includes Bluetooth...
How do I connect my phone?
I have a Nokia E63 and when I try to pair, what device will the RNSE come up as ?

I think it shows up as AUD or such like.
I had problesm to begin with. Follow this procedure.
1. Turn on blue tooth on your phone.
2. Go out to car and switch ignition on (dont start)
3. Search for bluetooth devices on RSNE
4. You will then be prompted for a code (think its 1234).
You only have a certain amount of time to connect.
Once connected, the tel prep remebers your phone and connects each time you get in the car.

It usually comes up with Audi-UHV 4762. Pin is 0000 or 1234, can't remember which. Easiest to switch ignition to prep and then try and discover the bluetooth module through your phone than the other way round.
2 minute job but like said previously you only have a period of IIRC 2 minutes after ignition switch before the module disables itself in which to initially pair.

Tried a quick way to sync my phonebook but never managed. Didn't know the system allowed voice control???? Maybe I should read my handbook.

You can only get voice control if you have SDS, don't know many cars with his function and IIRC it is a separate button on the dash (or that is how it is retrofitted anyway with non MFSW, i.e. flat bottom RS wheel)

If you have a phone cradle, you have SDS - you just need your adaptor of choice to use it (else you don't have a button to press to activate it!)

Guys - there are 2 versions of SDS.
Partial SDS that comes whenever you have the Audi phone kit. This allows you to voice dial, that's it.
Full SDS that only comes when you have a special version of the RNS-E ans which allows you to controlmany functions of the RNS-E as well.

I have partial SDS then, as when I press the button on the cradle, she asks me to speak a command
So....any ideas how to store voice commands (i.e. names)

If you wait without saying anything, she will say "Pardon"... then after another little wait "Pardon"... then she will go through the possible commands

Press the PTT button and say "store name", you'll then be guided through entering the name and phone number.
