Don't post a headline as tempting as that and then deny us permission to read it.

There you go/posted by Jezzer
Yes I owned one but got fed up with the brakes warping, the suspension leaking, the inlet coaking up, the bhp down by 50 bhp and the dealers being . I reckon the Focus RS could suprise a few RS4 owners and shut them up. I could go over there and slaughter them, but I think I'll let them get on with it. I'd only write something I'd regret.
Have we met before?
Bit unfair i think????

His latest offering:
What gets me about this thread is they really think the Audi RS4 is the ultimate car when they know the car is falling apart around them. They slag the Focus RS off because they cant understand why it has had so much media attention since being first launched and are a little threatened knowing this £25/30k Ford RS is almost up there competing with their RS4s
There are major problems with Audi RS4s, the main one being the Dynamic Ride Control - a pressurised suspension that was so bad Audi had to put a five year warranty on this just to calm them all down and stop all the cars ending up back at the dealers. Owners were having this changed and a day later it was going back again because the dealers didnt know how to re-pressurise the system properly or the new parts just failed again.
As soon as my RS4 Avant was three years old and about to go out of warranty I got rid of it quickly and so did most of them on that forum as well.
Its great to know the Focus RS has relatively very small problems with nothing major going wrong, touch wood. Its got to be one of the best and most enjoyable cars I've ever owned.

Interesting - I have had nowt go wrong with my RS4 and neither did the owner before. Maybe I'm a lucky one?
Or maybe I'll buy a top spec focus that cost nigh on 30k, just to have its ass whipped by a very lightly tuned focus ST.....
My 12 year old thinks the Focus RS is cool - enuff said I think.
Totally differring market but try a Focus RS in the rain (which is most British weather of late), WILL not keep up with any RS4 even if it is down 50 HP. Also seem to recall that the focus RS isn't putting out the full 300hp either.
Each to their own I suppose.

The guy is clearly bitter with his own RS4 experience and if it was that bad then fair enough. I think the RS focus is probably a very good car but he should not throw stones in glass houses. The Rs does not perform that well for a 300bhp car about 6s to 60 is crap with that output. 10yr old scoobies will be spanking them all over the country. They look boy racer like but I still think they are probably very good.
Each to their own guys.

I'm not sure why we're even entering into the debate. At the end of the day, the Focus RS is just a sporty version of a FORD FOCUS! In the same way as my Astra VXR is still an ASTRA! Albeit a lot quicker than the standard SXi or whatever it is. Great fun, but it's still just a quick little run-around. The FRS is the same thing. The bottom line is that the technology and build quality of an RS4 is not even in the same league as and RS a VXR or any other zupped up version of a very standard car. When I first got the Astra it was great fun, still is. It had Clarkson saying it was a scream (albeit it won't drive in a straight line with the foot on the floor) in the same way as everyone's raving about the FRS. But as time has gone on I wanted something more complete. When I got in the RS4 for the first time it was like moving from a kiddies go-kart to a real car. I'm sure driving the FRS isn't much different. A kiddies go-kart!
The problem with cutting edge technology (DRC, FSi etc) is that it can be problematic. Look at F1 cars. They're forever blowing up! Of course the FRS may have less advertised problems (we'll need to wait and see since there's very little history at the moment) but is far far less to go wrong because it's quite a simple toy.
Jezzer has a point re the DRC and the dealers not knowing what they're doing with it. It is bad that Audi don't provide the proper training! And I've had dealers blame owners for taking the RS cars to independents thus depriving them of chance to practice on them! However, I've sure Ford won't have any problems like that because there's not enough on the FRS that isn't just standard stuff.
