Really, not impressed at all with these presently. I put 4 on my RS4 last weekend and have covered around 400 miles since and really I have to say I am far from impressed. First off they are very noisy compared to the P-Zero's I had on previously, lots of road noise coming back and it's annoying me. Second and most annoying is their grip levels are simply poor compared to the P-Zero's. I was coming home very early one morning and the roads were clear so I stretched it on my favourtate B road and it was really poor at both front end and rear end. I would wash out earlier and the back was becoming lively when pushed hard.

I have read they take 500 miles or so to bed in so will give them the benefit of the doubt, but if they don't improve they are going back!

255/35/R19 XL is the spec and I was told R is the new ZR, can anyone confirm this please?

My experience was exactly the same.

They came good eventually and I'd still rate them above both the P-Zero's and the Secret Santas I've got on at the moment.

However, I did have the F1's in the 275/30 profile and the others in the 255/35 profile which might be the reason for the difference?

I'll be going back to F1's when this set are done as I still don't think Michelin prices are worth paying...

In my experience, new tyres have always taken quite some time to bed-in, regardless of what make they were. Was even true of the Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas I fitted quite recently. Now they've 'worn-in', they are sublime and I dare say yours will be too. Don't panic just yet.

IMO too soon to tell IIRC mine took 600-1000 miles to come good and then lasted another 18000 miles after that. I understand that Pzero's and good grippy tyres but soft.

The F1's are much better than the Conti SC3's and Vredesteins I have presently and have been my choice of tyre on S3, S4 and RS4. Perservere with them, you won't regret it. BTW, where di you get them from as the only thing I could think is they are a cheap Chinese copy as there are some out there.

1000+ miles on mine and they perform way past my bravery. They were a last minute decision at $249 (150 pounds 'ish) and no regrets. Had Toyo Proxes T1R before these, horrible squealing waste of money.

I got them from a HI-Q centre, so one would hope they were the proper thing and I paid £200 each so not cheapest out there.

Thanks chaps, interesting to hear similar things. The tyres are both noisy and loose when pushed hard into a corner, understeer becoming oversteer which though fun is not what I had hoped. Seems I need to add some miles and then revaluate.

Wow, that is pricey, I hope you got the real deal then. What pressures are you running as they are also a little pressure sensitive.

the speed rating should be Y (186 mi/hr)
load is 96 (1565 lbs)

However, I did have the F1's in the 275/30 profile and the others in the 255/35 profile which might be the reason for the difference?

I agree with J here...still running the 275's on mine & when I need another set, will probably run the same again.

Seems you have the 255/35's

Funny as I have found the complete opposite, lot less road noise compared to the P-zeros, and grip to be a lot better, I even did 12 laps of the ring on the F1s and no problem what so ever, the tyres was around 2k miles worn in!

I have had 4 sets of F1 assy's on now and for me they are by far the best tyre i have used. huge amounts of grip that far outweigh my balls..... I felt the rossos were good in the dry but dangerous in the wet- did a complete 360 on the m6 @ 60 mph! contis were crap, PS2 wre too dear and sntas i cant seem to get locally.

Only thing with the F1's is- let them warm up before hooning it......

Whilst not having an rs4, i have used the f1 assymetrics on the tractor (A4 1.9tdi sport avant, tyre size 235/45/17). They lasted 9,900miles before i had to change the full set (this including swapping around mid way through - front left to rear right etc.) - not impressed to say the least. The car's suspension, toe etc. all fine and whilst i like to drive and go round corners the longevitiy left a lot to be desired. I gues that using the tyre on an rs or similar may result in even less longevity!

Not in my experience; as previously said 19,000 miles without rotating.

Here are my GY F1 just after 10000kms (6200miles). Didn't last very long but they were good while they were on.
