A question for those of you with aftermarket exhaust systems

Hey guys,

If you have an aftermarked exhaust on your RS4, what did you do with your original OEM exhaust?? Have you kept it or thrown it away?

Reason I ask is I am going to get a milltek non-res soon (not sure if valved or non-valved yet!) I've heard its a nightmare to take the OEM exhaust off neatly and it has to be CUT off in pieces!??

Am wondering whether I should retain the backbox with the valves to put on later so I can sell the car in an original condition and also sell the milltek or should I just ditch the original system and stick with the new one / sell the car with the milltek on it in 2 yrs time.

Cheers

Are you having the work done at Awesome GTI?
I had mine done there when i lived in Manchester - they removed the exhaust whole and intact and i asked them to have it couriered to my house where it now lives outside wrapped in bubble wrap (leaning up against the wall out of sight).
I have the non res valved milltek you won't regret it

yes, awesome would be fitting it for me. might look into courier charge, they did say it would need something van sized to get it home.

Yes keep it mate, when you come to sell you can return it to OEM. remember the OEM is one piece.

Left mine at Awesome, saw no need to keep the original.

Kept mine, Audi huddersfield did a great job taking it off and putting my Milltek non res non valved!

It sounds awsome once its done about 250-400 MIles!

Mine is still leaning against a wall in the workshop...must pick it up but need to find a van first as it's about 7 foot long and 5 foot wide when a complete unit!

Hi, you can cut it into two parts. There is an indication for that on it...later you can buy a kit from Audi to redo it.

cool, thanks guys, think I'm gonna try and retain the original system (either in parts or whole) to put back on the car after I'm done with the milltek in a few yrs
