Sparks flying !!!!

I was travelling on the autobahn recently at very high speed, it was night time, when i backed off in top gear i noticed what looked like sparks flying out the back of the car. I've checked underneath there is nothing visable, the car drove superb, it's only done 14k driven by the wife mainly, this is the first time i've really given it flat out in top, only happened when i backed off. what could it be ?

ive seen sparks come out of my exhaust at the top of fifth gear on a rolling road

If the wife has been Driving Miss Daisy & you gave it a good spanking, then possible just excess crud in the pipes being ignited & ejected.

Likely nothing to worry about, however i had a rotor arm (£2 part) go on a Rover 820 Vitesse many many years ago as i was flying up the M1 & this took out the cats in a spectacular & ejected molton metal out of the zorst over the fast lane (looked like Krakatoa). Needless to say the failing £2 part was now not my main priority & the bill was eye watering.
