Man assaulted and robbed at home
A man has been tied up and robbed in his South Lanarkshire home by two men armed with a knife.
The attack took place after the 26-year-old answered the door of his home in Blantyre Farm Road, Uddingston, at about 2100 BST on Monday.
His two attackers forced him to the ground and tied him up before stealing personal items and his Audi RS4 car.
Police described the attack as "sickening" and appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
One of the suspects is described as 30 to 33-years old, about 5ft 7in tall, of slim build and with heavy acne.
He was wearing a black hooded rain jacket and blue denims.
The second suspect is described as 30 to 33-years old, about 5ft 11in tall, of medium build with light brown hair.
He was wearing a black zipper jacket and dark coloured jeans. Both men had Glasgow accents.
The stolen Audi car was later recovered in Glasgow's Tollcross area.
Det Sgt Norman Laurie, of Strathclyde Police, said: "This is a sickening attack on a defenceless man within his home.
"Although he wasn't injured, he has been left extremely shaken by this ordeal."

RE: Beware RS4 owner !!
give him 2 minutes with a baseball bat with those 2 scum bags!!
it worries me when her indoors is out and about with her cars!! she wouldnt have a chance to fend off anyone gaining entry so i tell her to lock the doors when around town.
MUM'S Merc also does this as you pull away.

Hi
A lady recently got assulted in a multi story car park in Halifax about 2 months ago, I dont think she was hurt but shaken up badly. It was a Avant B7 Rs4 they took off with.
A tip people, whenever you stop at traffic lights or ques etc, always leave enough gap between the car infront and you to move off just in case some one tries to drag you out of the car or blocks you from behind.
It has happend to me................ never again!
Yass

All good advice guys. Another one which I'm sure we all do is to 'hide' your keys in the house or at least don't leave them anywhere obvious. I was broken into and my keys were in the Kitchen at the end of the hall a good 7 meters from the from door and they were on their way out in less than 5 seconds with keys so keep them safe.
A bit over the top but if a leave my car on the drive when I'm out I take the keys with me. TV's/DVD's all replaceable but I bet none of us would be that confident of replacing our pride a joy with the exact same model/spec as the one we have now.... regardless of insurance payout

If someone breaks into my house after the car keys while we are in, they can have them, as I do not want them coming upstairs to me and my girlfriend asking with a bat where they are. I put them out of view from the windows, but easy to find once in. But, if we are going out they are hidden very well

Bang on, something I have always maintained. There is no way I could replace mine "like for like".pad125 wrote:TV's/DVD's all replaceable but I bet none of us would be that confident of replacing our pride a joy with the exact same model/spec as the one we have now.... regardless of insurance payout

Agree with david7M, it is a very nice car but it can be replaced..
WRT the film on the windows, yes stops them getting in but also stops you getting out or the emergency services getting in. If someone really wants your car they will take it, how much risk are you/family prepared to take for a car?

RE: Re: RE: Beware RS4 owner !!
It's a sad state of affairs when people will break into your house and threaten or indeed inflict harm to steal your car. What can you do though without putting your family's and your own life at risk? I don't think I would happily hand over the keys but then I don't fancy being stabbed either. It makes me sick that there are people out there who find this kind of thing acceptable, how they can live with themselves I don't know??
