Weird thing happened

Hi Guys

Hope you can help. Drove 350 miles down to St Ives, Cornwall on Tuesday in the avant. Great faultless drive. Didn't drive aggressively, just a nice leisurely pace and the odd occasional squirt on B roads.

Whilst parking, I shifted into reverse. Whilst doing so, the gearstick felt as though it wobbled (had to have another go shifting into R). I can't describe the feeling - it was almost as though the gate changed pattern (left, then down, then left again, then up) make sense? The following morning it was fine and has been ever since. Could this have anything to do with the heat build up after a long drive? Anyone else had this problem..?

doubt it i drove to bulgaria with a full load in my cab with temparatures over 30c and high speeds for a long time with stops including reversing in the service stations and no problems, the gears were actually smoother with the car being hot
