Hi everyone,

i've been browsing on here for a few months. Have finally decided to get an RS4 :D I'm after a fast, discrete, comfortable quality car, having test driven one in Jan 2009 I know how capable and brilliant they are. I did look at a 911 carrera 2S but feel this car would better fit my lifestyle now so am going for the RS4.

I've been looking at Main Dealer cars, prices are about £33k for the car I'm after, and the dealers are not budging on price at all, even tho I am going to pay cash (no part-ex)

My essential criteria are -

colour - grey or black
mileage - 20-30,000
sat nav
black bucket seats
carbon fibre inserts

would be nice to have -

parking sensors
cd-changer (Do these play mp3 cd's??????????)
cruise control

The reason i'm looking at dealership cars is for the audi warranty and hopefully they are less likely to screw me over than an independent trader (could be wrong here tho?!)

Should I be worried about mileage over 40,000?? I am looking to keep this car for 2-3 yrs then maybe move onto a GT3.

Am selling my R32 privately because I checked with one dealership and they offered £1500 less than the parkers trade value for it!

ANy advice on buying and what to look for would be much appreciated including common failures (eg. already picked up on the DRC situation, what about brakes and clutch, any other things???)

thanks

Priyan

If it has Satnav then you can play MP3's via SD cards that slot into it(remember normal SD cards not SDHC i made this mistake)!! Brakes and clutch are just as any other performance car some last ages others dont, at 20K-30K i would check to see if the brakes have been replaced, if the previous owner drives like me then u will need a new set!!! :D As for the DRC problems Audi i understand have increased the warrenty on these to 5 years so not really a finacial concern for you, just a pain getting them replaced if the time comes!! the only other main issue seems to the the coking in the inlet manifold, but this is easy to clean and can be done every 20K or so. hope this helps !!

ok, have done a deal and got good money for my R32!

that leaves the RS4. seen a nice one on the audi website over the weekend, grey one in gloucestershire, but called today and it was sold. Guess I need to keep looking.

How much should I expect to talk them down on the price? I am paying cash on a car between 32-35k from audi.??

thanks

PS. did previously like sprint blue but want something a bit more stealth.
