Hi guys, looking to buy RS4 avant, sorry if I've not done my homework (searches)properly before posting..

What's the servicing cost at Audi dealers?
I've also heard that Rs4 seem to suffer suspension failures, would the kwv3 kits solve the problem?

Are there anymore common problems with RS4 that I should be aware of?

Any advice would be much appreciated

Try the search facility - there loads on there. Is what I did prior purchase.

Quickly though.
KVW (or any) aftermarket suspension will fix DRC prob.

Servcining cost vary greatly from dealer to Stealer...I got quote 460 but negotiated it down to 195 - you dont ask you dont get.

Like above do some searches and you'll find the info, I have just had mine serviced (1st service), they quoted £360 but managed to get it for £205 with me supplying the oil, no major problems just one of the front parking sensors playing up, no problems with DRC (car now 2 years old with 10000 miles).............still loving it :D

The KWv3 does not SOLVE the DRC problem, it replaces the problem, the DRC is under extreme oil pressure resulting in the seal failing, and leaking, as you know the DRC (Dynamic ride control) is designed to minimise body roll and flex. The After Market Coil-overs do not have a DRC function as such, so you will sacrifice Ride quality ad comfort (?) for better handling as per any race suspension set up. Some guys have attached ARB to there RS4 to minimise roll and flex (what the DRC should be doing) don't get me wrong if your DRC works it is a great bit of kit.

For other common problem this it the only one that I can think off, make sure your wheels are not buckled however this was a problem on early B5 RS4s. I wont touch on underquoted performance figures here, i,e. the car making under the 400hp mark as its a touchy subject at the mo ;) but do not let this put you off buying the RS4.

Service and running costs, yes are high but so what, you carbon footprint is greatly welcomed. Dealer quotes for servicing vary from region to region I pad 420 quid for a full service at Audi, I also changed my spark plugs too (30k early?) at a specialist this cost me £190, brake fluid change again at the Audi dealership cost £110. these are just some of the services I have had, hope this gives you a rough idea as to running costs.

Thanks guys, the servicing cost is alot cheaper than I expected, so thats a bonus, shame about the suspension problems, it seems to me a design fault. When i took the test drive, I remember the engine sounded awesome, and was also very surprise at the decent ride comfort at the time, it would be ashame if I have to lose the DRC.

I have seen a couple of Avant for sale, but I am not too keen on sprite blue, I want something slightly understated like grey or silver :?

Also didnt like sprint blue - went with Mugello blue, much nicer but harder (not so common) to find.
