What difference in price should sat nav make?

I am looking at buying an RS4 (still) I ideally want the following:

Tech Pack / Sat Nav
Black Leather Bucket Seats
Flat Bottom Steering Wheel
Black / Grey / Sprint Blue
<25k miles
Phone Prep maybe??

I have a pretty good deal on the table but the car doesn't have sat nav which I really want. The car is a good deal and I am struggling to find any that compare at the moment.

How much would it cost to get OEM sat nav installed, is it even possible?

How much difference in price should it make between 2 cars with the exact same spec, one with sat, one without?

Cheers

Dan

Either do it yourself, or get a company to do it for you:

www.vwcruise.com should give you an idea or a retro fit by a pro

ask CraigyB on here. Try here http://www.tclsatnav.com/index_017.htm think they are around £1200 to retro fit according to the webpage, drop him a PM, for a more accurate qoute.

You can retrofit factory sat nav from as little as £600, I did in my old S3 8p. You mount the GPS receiver in the dash, worked fine as wine

Resale will be a problem - not sure why as I never use Sat nav but others have said its a must. (2K was what dealers was quoting for the difference which although seems high - seems about right as most owners who spec'd sat nav - got all the other junk also)

Cheers for the replies fellas, I think i'll try and find one that has it as this one also doesn't have the flat bottom steering wheel.

Sat nav does make a difference value wise £1k-£1.5k but more importantly it can loose buyers I WANT IT feeling,Most similar vehicles in glasses guide knock 1-2k off for cars without nav.Your spec list looks good and should be possible to find,i wouldnt bother with the audi phone prep though, the range of phone holders is limited,my car has it but no kit available for a nokia n95.You may have already answered your own question by the fact you have been offered an attractive deal on a car that doesnt have nav!

Flat bottom wheel is a total must have IMO it's what makes the car an RS4 and not just a normal A4 cabin. I know that sounds a bit dumb as there is so much else but I just couldn't and wouldn't wan to image having an RS4 without the flat bottom wheel or buckets....... each to there own though of course. Do what you want to do, not what others think I always say.

Unless it is a late model car, if it does not have sat nav it may also not have the tech pack as RNS-E was part of that. That means only standard xenons, not adaptive, and no bluetooth module and a few other bits. IIRC it is only 2007 onwards cars where you could option sat nav separately to the tech pack.

However it has to be said having it is better than not, not just because of the sat nav capability but phone, SD card function and upgradable to have TV and SDS as well.

Could not agree more, yo can always get the Bluetooth retro fitted like I did, rememebr Bluetooth prep did not come with cars that had the FBSW.

Thanks for the heads up guys, I will definately look for one with the tech pack then. I am not too fussed about the adaptive lights but then I have never seen / used them.

So if it has the flat bottom steering wheel it probably won't have bluetooth? This is something that I really would want, Sonny how much was it to retro fit? Can the iphone be used with it?

One other thing, do all RS4's come with a cd changer because I notice that some ads say they have it and some don't mention it?

If they don't have sat nav they probably don't have a CD changer since the Symphony radio includes a 6 CD changer.

Also if they have a (crappy) Audi iPod interface then they won't have a CD changer since it's either iPod or CD changer, you can't have both (using Audi parts anyway).

FBSW??? The option was there for bluetooth. Mine has it.
