Unstable at high speeds

Took the car out for a aspirated drive to make the most of the current barometric air pressure, and noticed that the car felt unstable at high speeds, it did not feel as well planted as it should or even previous cars I have owned did(BMW), do you think it could be the DRC making the car unstable, It just passed its MOT and the DRC was not a did not pose problem.

Any one else feel the same, its like I have not got confidence in the car at reaching very high speeds, I am uprating the suspension with the KWv3 in the summer ready for my Ring trip.

What sort of high speeds are we talking about? 8) Can't say I've noticed it and I've had a lot of DRC trouble. Was it windy? all the time or when changing lanes?

I've always found mine to be very stable, have you checked your shocks for signs of leakage?

Sounds like a DRC problem to me, used to get this alot in my old C5 RS6 when pushing on it would feel unstable.

best bet is pop down to Audi and get them to look at it, although if you're going for V3's then maybe just get on with it and put them on now?

Was around 140 GPS speed, I had the DRC checked out and Audi said it was a light misting, but the DRC was still good? however, I beg to differ, I will put the KWv3s on as soon as I have the funds which will be in July.

Straight line acceleration is fine but any where above 120 just seemed hard work to keep the car "relaxed".

My DRC issues were much more noticeable at speed, and exactly as you describe - it just doesn't feel planted

Once fixed, mine felt (and still feels) fine at speed, although I'm talking indicated 140 so a bit slower than you. The only thing I notice is a marked increase in ventilation above about 120 - it's like someone turning a fan on...

haha yes well i did take into account the cross winds, but you know what that feels like, also I have experienced this before, even on a track, im on the Track tomorrow so I will le you guys know if it ha got worse, i think this is the excuse to upgrade to KWv3s, shame they have all gone up in price due to the Euro :(

Hey the Saloon is the best for aerodynamics and you lot know it hehe

UNI555, So what happend to your rear windscreen then did it blow out?

its the drc i had the same problem with mine the first day i picked it up but mine was at 70mph upwards the car was well unstable, try it at lower speeds and if you are constantly having to correct yourself on the steering wheel then its the drc, even mine is starting to do it again but im just going to put on the kw as well.

Now you mention it then yes I think it is def the DRC, strange as i passed the MOT last week!

Sonny, unless the MOT was via an Audi garage, I doubt most MOT Stations would spot a leak on a shock .... they just check it does not bounce around all over the place ..... a very basic test, that's all.
