Ok, lots of negative comments about the RS4 on here so I want people to speak up who have not had any major issues during their ownership to date please?

My deposit is paid and will be picking the car up in a couple of weeks, just want to know if I am going to definately have problems or not! The car I am buying is a Jan 07 saloon with 16k on it, will be freshly serviced prior to me collecting it also.

Hope someone responds or else I will be worried to

Regardless or any issues I have had, the car for me outweighs them. Its a great car to drive, look at when not driving, to be seen in or around. Yes, there are a few niggles, but don't let that worry you, I have no regrets, and I would imagine lots of other owners on here would agree!

Well as I said on the other thread I have only had mine a few weeks and have no issues yet but more relevant perhaps is the fact that the car had it's first service at 20k and I spoke to the servicing dealership which confirmed no work was needed beyond the normal service at that time. Btw, I totally agree with the the comment on the other thread about it being a 4 (or in my case 5) door Ferrari, especially in Misano!

No major issues for me either - DRC problems, but under warranty for five years (so another three in my case...)

Iv had my RS4 since Nov 2007 and is sitting at 25k miles, and have only had one major problem, and that was a failed starter motor due to corrosion (I know no what you are wanting to hear) but however, apart from that, I have not had any problems with the DRC (touch wood), my carbon fiber is the correct colour, I have n wear and tear on any of the interior parts, including the driver side bolster, my sports button has not faded one bit!...ok I can go on and on. I love this car but deep down there are the problems, however all car makes and models have there problems.

Buy a good car mate that has warranty, and enjoy.

All cars have niggles,, forums just tend to concentrate on the negative sometimes as a way to get help advice.Not all RS4S have problems in the grand scale of things only a handfull.I love my car and at the end of the day high performamce cars need TLC as they are highly strung..

I have owned mine for nearly two years and 30,000 blissful miles of ownership. It has been into the garage 4 times, 1 for a service, 1 for DRC under warranty and twice for discs under warranty but given it now has nearly 46,000 miles on the clock it is as bombproof as the S4 it replaced but gives me a smile every time I look at it or drive it which unmodified my S4 couldn't. And people always notice it or make favourable comments on the car even if they are slightly misinformed on what it is.

You will not find a more all round capable car with this level of performance, even if it isn't what is said on the packet, for the money.

My RS4 has done 56000 km so far, and the only problem I've had was with the intake manifold runners, which Audi replaced under warranty. Aside from that, the only thing I've had to have replace were the front linkage bushings and that's it. No other issues at all.

That's more like it guys, I am excited all over again.

Can I just say that Lincoln Audi are being excellent with me this far. Someone on here said that they (the dealers) can be a bit poor but my car has had the alloys properly refurbished as in coated, laquered and baked, I actually asked them if they were going to do a cheap touch up and they said they would never do that and the cost per corner runs to £80. I also asked if they would do the mutlipoint properly and they said that there is no benefit for them not doing any required work as they get paid for it from Audi, so I've asked that they give it a stern going over

I got my RS4 Avant new in July 2006 and have done 29,800 miles since then, including full laden trips back from France with the rear full of wine.

What have I had go wrong on it?
- nothing, zilch, zip, nada , no DRC problems, no cracks in the "spare wheel" well.

What have I had to do to it?
- two services.
- replace the tyres twice (OE was Pirelli, then had Michelin, now on Goodyear).
- top up the oil (approx 1 litre per 2,000 miles in the first 10,000 miles, approx 1 litre per 5,000 miles since then - you know when the oil needs changing because it needs topping up more often!).
- wash it and polish it.
- drive it

Owned it from 2006 just passed first MOT and 31,000 miles. No issues at all, and no problems with DRC (checked again yesterday by Audi). Goes out of warranty next week and am seriously considering whether it is actually worth the £1,200 to extend it. There is no more capable mid-range saloon or estate out there that does what the RS 4 does in the wet and dry. As for the power output, I realise there is a lot on the forum around rolling roads, polishing valves etc. but having come up against other marques which you would think should be quicker or as quick it has always proved itself and often surprised me at the power.

I have a 2006 RS4 saloon with 15000 miles on the clock. I have had my car since February 2008 and have done 10000 of the most enjoyable miles in any car to date. It has an awesome engine with fantastic performance and character. For me, it is a great car to look at (understated!) and is beautifully built with high quality materials. I have no rattles, squeaks or dodgy electronics and have not had anything fall off or break. It ALWAYS feels special to get in and drive. I cannot comment on valve/inlet deposit buildup etc. as I have had no cause to open up my engine, but what I can tell you is that it definately does not feel down on power and seems to get better and better with every mile. It does not consume excessive amounts of oil, running and service costs are reasonable and the only issue I have had to date is a leaking front shock replaced under warranty (DRC warranty increased to 5 years/75000 miles - Audi UK). As long as you buy one that has been looked after and show it the TLC it deserves I am sure you will not regret it. I can honestly say that for me this car is one of the most well balanced/sorted vehicles I have ever driven and an absolute privilege to own and drive. In the real world I have found very few cars that can touch it, let alone match its performance on the road! Enjoy!

Nothing what so ever since the day I bought it new in Sept 06. I'm now touching wood, however if I keep the car after this September I will invest in a warranty from Audi.

I would mate, I extended mine, sods law and all that! 1200 quid is not bad considering what you get, WD i think is around 500-600 quid, and that's not a touch on the Audi one.

21000 miles and owned from new May 07.

What I like:

* Being on the autobahn at an indicated 175mph in a 4 door saloon full of gear and with 1000rpm to go - crazy to put a limiter in a car like this IMHO. There must only be a handful of 4 doors that will do that!

* 4.5 sec 0-60 times day in day out.

* A 8250rpm redline.

* The inflatable buckets.

* The flat-bottomed steering-wheel. Start of a trend wasn't it?

* In a country where it must be wet more than 50% of the time the AWD performance means that the car is almost as easy to drive in the wet as the dry...and the feeling of security this offers is worth a few quid. I'm not sure whether I'd laugh or cry if I had to drive a C63 as hard as I drive my RS4 in the wet...

* The V8 soundtrack. My neighbour tells me he can hear me coming from miles away. I give it beans just for him, of course.

* The quality of the interior finish. I honestly would not change anything except the annoying chime if you exceed 15mph without your seatbelt on. I'm sure I could turn this off with VAGCOM.

* The practicality i.e., the size of the boot. It will take all our ski/snowboard gear for 2 week trips down to the family pad in the Alps. You can fit snowboard carriers/bike carriers/roof-box and not look like you bought the wrong car to be doing what you're doing!

* Its subtleness which, so far, has meant no bu**er has keyed it. I like owning a "sleeper" which only enthusiasts appreciate.
