Tyre information - Wrong in the user manual?!?

Post by WnelsonRS4 » Tue Apr 14, 2009 2:59 pm

Afternoon All,

Not sure if this has already been covered, but I have just noticed that the user manual, bottom right hand corner of page 275 states:

255/40/R/18/91Y

Which is a worry, I have spoken to the local dealer and they have never heard this - if it's old news I apologies in advance, but might have an adverse effect on handling if anyone ever paid attention to it!

I know if the Rim diameter was 19 then this would 35 for width ratio.

Long story to how I came across this - not just a reader of manuals for the sake of things!

Cheers

IIRC European spec RS4's came with 18" five spoke rims as standard and optional 19" rims, Audi UK the other way round. So with that in mind that is probably why when translating the manula into English the European spec has been retained.

Look at the tyre pressure label on the B-pillar when you open the driver's door - it gives details of summer and winter tyres in both 18" and 19" sizes.
