how far do you think you can go once your range hits 0??????

Guys,
I'm writing this stood on the hard shoulder of the M23!!
My sat nav said 13.8 miles to my destination as the range hit 0. Plenty of fuel right?? WRONG!! Having only done 10 miles she ground to a hault! Gutted!!
Sat waiting now for Audi roadside. What an arse!!
Worse thing is i have done at least 25-30 miles on 0 range before now! By the way my average MPG was 26 at the time.....

Up and running again! Even made the Audi roadside guy buy me super unleaded!!!
A lesson learnt! Question is though if you had 13 miles to go and hit zero would you take the risk? I bet most of you would have done the same as me and paid the price!!

I admit I'm a fuel snob and couldn't find a tesco or shell garage! Full tank of Vmax now!
